We had been holding out to see this specific movie, since my younger son just loves Mosters vs Aliends. So when we found out a IMAX theatre that was just down the street from our hotel we just had to go. Turns out it is favorite of some of my coworkers who visit this area a lot. Turns out it was a very good choice.

The IMAX features one giant screen, six stories high and 70 feet wide. Enhanced with crystal-clear digital sound, it is the only large format screen in the area.

This wonderful statue is located down in town square. I didn't realize that George Montgomery was more than an actor, he was a artist too. He had sponsor this beautiful bronze sculpture of his hollywood persona. I recognized it right away because I grew up watching all the old western greats with my dad.

    Fountain of Life

This beautiful fountain is the other center piece of the town square. It was designed by artist Jennifer Johnson and architect Reuel Young, A.I.A and built by House of Stone and Fountains and Landscape Enhancements. For many years local artisans whose families have been sculpting stone for more than 600 years carved the fountain pieces out of adoquin stone from a quarry near Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Now these beautiful pieces adorn the fountain with hand cut mosaic tiles and glass.

What is wonderful about this fountain it’s place to relax and watch the family play in the water spray of the fountain. The fountain is not made to climb on, but it is surrounded by recycled tires, creating a supple foundation that is becoming the accepted standard in children's public play areas. What also surrounds the fountain is a beautiful portico with lots of benches located all around the fountain and under the portico.

Attend a movie at Mary Pickford Theater

    by RCollins1205 Written Oct 26, 2003
    Mary Pickford Theater

The Mary Pickford contains a small museum of artifacts relating to this famous actress. The theater is new, has heavenly air conditioning, great seats and plays the latest releases.

For art house fans, there is an art house movie place in Palm Springs. Check the local paper, I think there may actually be a vintage house also. That one is right on the main downtown thoroughfare.
