Get Free Way to Check Mail...

by marinarena Written Jun 19, 2013

Favorite thing: ...and surf the web by visiting the library. Cerritos Library is quite convenient and especially if visiting the city, consider to book at the mainstream Sheraton Hotel and walk to the library. it is within a 5 min walking distance. No need to have a password or reservation given by staff. just make your way to a computer and sign on. That's it. There are about 10-15 computers for quick access in the main library floor (ground level) During busy times, it may be a bit difficult to fin an open computer spot but most likely, there will be one that will come available. There is no time limit on most computers and during a slow period, there really isn't any limit. This tip is especially for the independent out-of-towner traveler on-the-go who adores freebies. Aren't we all? :-)

Stay in a safer part of L.A.

by marinarena Written Oct 9, 2005

    Favorite thing: Pretty setting !

If you want to visit the L.A. and want a local and safe experience, try Cerritos. Many reasons make Cerritos a good place to stay-

    1. Central location
Cerritos is just 20 miles (30 km) away from downtown L.A and some beaches and just minutes of a drive to Orange County (northwest OC).
    2. Easy access
Many freeways and important highways meet Cerritos: the 91, 605 and 5 freeways and Artesia Blvd.
    3. Accomodations
The main hotel is the impressive Sheraton, near the Cerritos Center for Performing Arts.
    4. City landmarks
Visit the performing arts center, library (for architectural interest) and mall (Los Cerritos Center)
    5. Low crime
Cerritos is not one of those "bad" L.A. communities where it's unsafe to even walk down the street and with constant shootings and other crimes.

    Visiting the " Downtown "

by marinarena Updated Mar 23, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: OK, Cerritos is so small that it really doesn't have a downtown but the waterfalls by the Cerritos Towne Center and the civic center area is really pretty and I love to visit there area for a nice pleasurable walk.

Fondest memory: When I'm away from Cerritos, I do miss the overall tranquil feeling that the city offers. This is not to say that no disturbing things happen here but growing up here, I felt enough of a feeling of peace and security. Residents do take care and give back to their community.
