This was probably one of the best diner type of restaurants I've been to since I can remember.
They hire senior level chefs which make a huge difference in the quality of food that comes out of the kitchen.
The waitress was very polite and made sure we were served in a timely fashion.
Favorite Dish: The Kentucky Bourbon Steak on top of mashed potatoes.
Chocolate cream pie for dessert.

Definitely better than Denny's, but not as good as Coco's.
I recently found out that both Carrow's and Coco's are owned by the same company.
They're food is decent. But after ordering one of their steak plates, I had to send it back because it was like a piece of rubber; totally overcooked.
I guess it comes down to the kind of chef they have behind the counter.
Service was OK, not great.
Favorite Dish: Shrimp fetuccini and banana cream pie for dessert.

This is probably the biggest chain of Filipino restaurants. They are both here and in the Philippines. Goldilocks is known for its bakery, but it is also a restaurant. This is a pretty nice place and the food is not bad. Actually i think there are plenty of better Filipino restaurants in the area, but this place is always packed. The one thing i really like here is the breakfast. They serve the typical Filipino breakfast, topsilog, tocilog, longsilog but my favorite is the corned beef, rice and eggs. Its soo good!!! They also serve a ginseng coffee that is excellent, with free refills.
During lunch they have turo turo style and also a regular menu, they dont have turo turo during dinner, i think.. They serve all the regular Filipino dishes here. The bakery serves a bunch of different baked goods and desserts, i dont know any of the names, but once you walk in you will see them all. When i was a kid this is where my parents used to buy all my birthday cakes!!!

When in Cerritos, I now think to stop in North End Pizza at the Cerritos Towne Center for a quick bite. I am always in search of a good pizza, that is no-frills and not, well, for lack of a better word- crappy! North End, which has a few other locations in So Cal, is reminiscent of a NY or Boston pizzeria. I usually get the plain chesse as a slice. There is the traditional triangular slice or square Sicilian available usually with cheese only or pepperoni (and usually another meat variety).
Favorite Dish: cheese pizza of course

Salo Salo Grill is a nice Filipino Restaurant with good food. Its a sit down style and not the turo turo restaurants that populate the area. The servings here are family style, which means they are pretty big. I think all the dishes here are pretty good. What i like most here is the Filipino breakfast. They have a combo breakfast which includes Tapa, Tocina, Longonisa, 2 eggs and garlic fried rice. It is soo good!!!. And the best thing is they serve it all day. Many people tell me that It takes a very long time to get their food once its ordered and thats why they dont like eating here. Ive never experienced this. It can get pretty crowded here though, but worth the wait.

Ive been eating here for years. This plave is really good, but i think ive ordered the same thing every time ive eaten here. Just order the S8, otherwise known as the Sautee dinner. With this you get BBQ beef skewers, shrimp fried rice, with a peanut butter sauce and a small cucumber salad. This is everyones favorite here, although everything else is pretty good too. I wouldnt say the place is a very authentic thai restaurant but its close. The restaurant isnt very big and it usually gets crowded. They also do lunch specials, which includes a beef sautee combo, but i dont know the menu number.
Favorite Dish: S8

Samurai sushi is a really small Japanese restaurant, that can get really crowded. It took about 45 mins to get seated for 4 people. This place was pretty average to me. I only ordered the Teriyaki chicken and california rolls here, so i really cant comment on the sushi. The chicken and rolls taste pretty much the same as they do anywhere else. It really didnt stand out to me. The price was reasonable. My friends oredered all sushi and they said everything was all pretty good. The one cool thing is the main sushi chef has these little crabs and he lets you hold them if you want, he even let us keep 2 of them cuz my friend said he wanted to keep them as pets, yeah right, as soon as he got home he stuck them in his aquarium filled with piranhas.....
