This pleasant little town is close to Mt Konocti, Clear Lake State Park, and other attractions. From here, you can drive partway up Mt Konocti, but the road is blocked where you approach the summit. Even from here, the view is great.

At over 4,000 feet, Pinnacle Rock, atop Boggs Mountain, offers the best view of the Clear Lake area. Be careful on the unpaved roads; when they become too rugged, just get out and hike the rest of the way.

Clear Lake State Park offers camping, boating, swimming, fishing, and hiking. Located right on the shores of the lake, it has a few inlets which are rather marshy, and teeming with wildlife.
