We got to the Columbia Historic State Park at around 4pm. (It closes at 5pm). Luckily it is small. We had ice cream cones and started our walk through history.
we had a lunch. with live music on a old piano see other picture.
Favorite Dish: i did not know what i ordered. i only knew what a hotdog was. so it was a surprise
Unfortunately closed (maybe fortunately)....Notice the bonnet on Kaoru's head. We got that at another little store on Main St. She calls it her Laura Hat after Laura Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie.
If you are headed to Columbia from the Central Valley, be sure and go to Knights Ferry. They have a beautiful covered bridge there. Common in the east, there are only 2 or 3 in the west. Knights ferry was a major connector for miners heading to the diggings. To get there take Interstate 5 or Hiway 99 to hiway 120. Stop in Oakdale and get gas because it will be the cheapest. You can get a great meal there as well at Shively's or Faresses Deli. Then go up 120 to Orange Blossom Road. Orange Blossom Road will take right into Knights Ferry. After that its b ack onto 120 and up to Sonora then Colubia State Park.
