Side Street Cafe: The best (and cheapest!) brunch in town!

by RowanGBR Updated Feb 9, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Side Street Cafe is nestled in a strip mall on Newport Blvd at the end of the 55 towards Newport Beach. It has a wide range of American breakfast dishes, including delicious french toast, pancakes, omletes and "cheapskate" dishes that are delicious and cheap!!

The atmosphere is that of being at home on a Sunday morning, but having someone come in and cater for you!! The coffee is served in mismatched mugs and the cold drinks in jam jars - very casual!

There are lots of tables crammed into the cafe, or if you get lucky you can sit at one of the outside tables.

There is usually a wait of 10 to 20 minutes - but it is definitely worth waiting, and they will bring you drinks whilst you wait.

Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is stuffed french toast - yum! Thick french toast stuffed with strawberries and cream cheese, just waiting for you to douse it with maple syrup!!
