This casual wine bar absolutely rocks! Fun, laid back place perfect for happy hour or a chill, mellow dinner. Awesome wine list, beer list, and great appetizers. Hip music and a friendly waitstaff complement the experience.

Tubs Fine Chili & Fancy Fixin's: Great chili and friendly service
I saw this place open up in my neighborhood a while back and decided to check it out. I'm generally not a big fan of chili, but one taste and I was hooked (I've been back three times in the last month). There are seven different types of chili available - steak, port, turkey, chicken, and vegetarian to name a few. Each has its own character and is served in a unique toasted "bread tub". Another great part of this experience is eating the bread after it becomes infused with the taste of the chili.
Each dish can be ordered in small, medium or large sizes with extra toppings added upon request. Side orders include buffalo chips, coleslaw, and root beer floats.
Tubs is a small place in a mini-mall. Everything is decorated in a western/miner motif, including the staff which all wear cowboy hats. Without a doubt the service is the friendliest in town.
Favorite Dish: My favorite item from the menu is the Smokin' Pig chili, a combination of slow cooked pork with black-eyed peas. It looks like chili, but tastes like liquid barbecue.
Tender Greens: Surprisingly gourmet buffet of sorts
Tender Greens is a cute spot located in the bustling restaurant/ bar scene on Culver Blvd by Main Street in Culver City. The concept is cool: you order at a counter and wait while gourmet plates of food are prepared and assembled while you wait in line. Then, you take it to your seat either in the main restaurant or the outdoor patio.
The prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. I had a cut of seared albacore and a large side salad, which totaled $10.50. I added a glass of wine and a brownie (very delicious- both) for just $11 more. The ahi was surprisingly good, as was the glass of syrah. I will definitely pay another visit to Tender Greens.
We sat outside on the patio, which had nice lighting and heat lamps - always a plus! This restaurant is not too loud, so you can easily catch up with friends and have a nice conversation.
Favorite Dish: The albacore was very good considering it was $5.00 for a pretty decent cut of it.
Titos Tacos: Check out the Hype-but don't wait too long in line
Tito's Tacos is a very popular taqueria of the greater L.A area- so much so that daily, people wait several minutes just to make an order. I'll never understand completely the enormous hype about this place though it's worth a visit if you want simple and good Mex.
It is highly recommended that you come here early (it opens at 9am) or come during non-peak hours (12 pm-1pm or so). Locals and some from far out gladly come and wait even past an half hour just to eat here. There is TV advertisement in the greater Los Angeles area for this rather humble 1959 establishment. Definitely, the reputation of Tito's has been well-kept.
As an old-fashioned establishment, cash is only accepted in the restaurant. However, on Tito's website, online payments by card are accepted for special orders. You really can't beat the prices here. For a taco, enchilada and drink, you'll be set back just $5 or so. Burritos range from about $3 to $5. What's also nice here is that a decent cup of coffee is just 50 cents. That's surely beats Starbucks anyday. You can definitely get full here without breaking the bank.
Service is more than adequate here. Food is prepared fresh right after the order. The wait time is not too fast or slow. Behind the counter, it's like a factory scene with several employees keeping up with each order. Definitely, it's a fast paced environment.
If you are pressed with time, chances are that you may skip coming here. If you are craving Mexican, you can still have it just a few steps away. The foremetioned Cinco de Mayo restaurant is next door and is much less busy. Furthermore, Cinco has a more elaborate menu with more variety of Mexican and American items from which to choose (also it has the popular Salvadorean treat-pupusa).
Come to the corner of Sepulveda and Washington Place to compare these two Mex establishments and judge for yourself !

Cinco De Mayo Tacos: Eat Good Mex at the Corner!
Cinco De Mayo is not just a one-day affair, rather, can be celebrated everyday of the year, 24/7. This Culver City taco joint is a local favorite , easily found at a corner of Washington Pl (just yards away from the busy Washington Blvd), and Sepulveda Blvd. Despite the high visibility, it does get passed up by the insanely popular Tito's Tacos , which is behind the Cinco De Mayo building. Appreciate Cinco De Mayo for the shorter wait time, extensive menu and available seating. Judging by the burritos and pupusas thus far, the tortillas made here are authentic style, thin and not flaky. American foods are also here, in case you want fries with that taco and horchata.

Titos Tacos: Mexican food
Its hard to imagine why the food is soooo good here. I guess its because theres not alot of choices and the food is very very simple. So how can you mess that up? On any given day or night, anyday of the week, theres ALWAYS a line to order at this place. If you are alittle afraid of Mexican food Titos Tacos is a great place to start. The tacos are simple, beef, lettuce and cheese (if you want), and thats it. Even the salsa is nothing to fear. It just looks like blended tomatoes. Theres not even a kick to it but when you put it on your taco or burrito it makes it taste even better.
Favorite Dish: The beef tacos are very good, i get them with chese. The beef and bean burritos are very good too. The chips and salsa are addicting
Tito's Tacos: Good every once in a while.
Tito's Tacos is one of the best known restaurants in the West Los Angeles area. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Most of the time during open hours, there is a crowd in front waiting to order. There is a place inside to order during inclement weather.
Favorite Dish: I enjoy the meat burrito with rice and cheese. The meat is tender and overall gives you something hot to eat.

George Petrelli: Great Steakhouse
I've been to Petrelli's numerous times and everytime we dine there, we always get blood rushing to our faces hehe Yep, it's all from the juicy red meat. Sorry no vegan here. It's very dark in the steakhouse but nice comfy and roomy. There's the pub area and there's the dining area, the pub area has the pub of course the tv on and much more relaxed area, the dining area is sooo quiet, I don't like it as much
Favorite Dish: Definitely get yourself a nice slab of beef be it filet mignon, ribeye or prime rib. Everything they do is great. There's other type of meat as well like Chicken or lamb, but this is a steakhouse afterall so order a steak hehe Pastas are pretty good and drinks are not so bad either
King Kebab: Oh not Greek Food again
Well.. they're not really Greek, the owner is Egyptian. This little shop is located at the corner of Sepulveda and Sawtelle. Now most of you who live around here will probably say Sepulveda and Sawtelle are parallel with other and don't cross, yes they do! They're located nearby the shopping place where Toys R Us, Pier 1 Import etc. It's a small shop with two big windows to take order. They set some plastic tables and chairs for people who like to "dine in" hehe
Favorite Dish: My usual order is Gyro Plate with extra rice -- as usual :D Their plate is with rice, hummus, and yoghurt sauce. They do include a choice of pita or greek bread to be dipped with the hummus. They are extremely generous with the slices of gyro (unlike Charlie's Place at Samo Mall) not only they are generous, their slices are much thicker too YUMMY! I love their bakhlava which is much better and bigger than Charlie's. The owner is looking for a place to open up in Santa Monica and we're trying to get a good spot for him preferably somewhere by our place so we can visit him everyday hehe Oh any recommendations?
The Outdoor Grill: Barbeque in LA... oh yeah!!
Not only can you get great BBQ here, but you can also have your car washed. On the same lot as the Handy J car wash, sits the small but delicious Outdoor Grill. Most of the seating is on the roof where the smoke from the grill (which by the way is actually outdoor) will sometimes waft over the roof top dining area only enhancing the dining experience.
Favorite Dish: The Tri Trip is exceptional, but don't miss the chicken sandwich. It is sliced breast meat and comes on a roll with their legendary bbq sauce, which you can also purchase by the pint. It works great at home as well.
Johnnie's Pastrami: Best Pastrami in Town!
This place is a landmark and well know by most Angelinos who don't mind whacking down a large portion of cured meat surrounded by a lightly toasted french roll. Johnnie's has been around since 1952 and it still has the orginal table mounted jukebox system. They also have some outside seating with fire pits to keep you warm in the winter. All in all... great spot with tons of character.
Favorite Dish: Pastrami. It's great, but if you want something really lean... you may be a bit dissapointed.
