  • Filipino Burger Invades the US!

Jollibee began as an ice-cream parlor in 1975 in the Philippines. However, founder Tony Tan Caktiong soon saw that sandwiches and burgers offered more potential, so he studied U.S. fast-food systems and revamped his concept before incorporating Jollibee in 1978. Shares of the parent company, Jollibee Foods Corp., are traded publicly on the...

  • One of the last "old timer" restaurants

This is one of the older restaurants in the area, but the quality remains high. There are always long waits at dinnertime, but if you arrive at 4-5 PM, there's usually hardly a wait. Two rooms to the restaurant, plus a bar. One room overlooks a couple boulevards, but no special views other than that. The food doesn't disappoint. Average prices,...

  • Saint Francis Square

this area is a small mini strip mall filled with small stalls and ethnic convenience stores. Now my favorite place is the St. Francis Liquors and Deli and because they sell way cheaper liquors than Bevmo (although obviously less selections than Bevmo since it's just a small stall). Why a six pack of Buds if cheaper by 15-20% here and also they got...
