J.C. Beans Coffee House: A coffee lover’s paradise
Headed out on a motorcycle ride up the coast and wanted to get a bite to eat as well as a good cup of coffee. So went online and found great write-ups about J.C. Beans Coffee House. Since we were going to ride through Dana Point, we decided to stop in. Great choice as we enjoyed the traditional ambiance (unlike Starbucks), a store furnished with antiques and a place where local artists feature their work. You can also enjoy a fireside coffee while looking through the used book library...and get this, you can bring your canine for a dog biscuit. And they also offer free wi-fi
Favorite Dish: Massimo had a Cappuccino while I had a Dark Chocolate Truffle Coffee and a Breakfast Burrito (ham, cheese, potatoes, peppers).

Stonehill Tavern: Great Food, Amazing Service
We had eaten at a few Michael Mina restaurants in Los Angeles and San Francisco in the past, so when we heard Stonehill Tavern was his Orange County restaurant, we figured this was a good time to try it. We did not make reservations, but didn't have any problems walking up to the bar to get a seat. And we're glad we did because we had the most amazing, attentive service.
We brought our own bottle of wine with us and when we sat down, our bartender/server immediately opened it to let it breathe. We offered him a glass and that seemed to set the tone for the evening. A few minutes later, and before we had even ordered anything, we had courses of appetizers brought out to sample - ahi tuna tartare, kona kanpachi, kale chips, handmade saffron fusilli and a couple other things I can't remember. They were all delicious!!
For dinner, we ordered the Cape Cod Sea Scallops and Filet Mignon. The scallops were amazing and melted in your mouth. The filet was a little disappointing, actually, quite disappointing for the hefty price tag.
One of the best things about the service is that as we were getting ready to leave, our server handed us an envelope and on it it read "thank you for spending your evening with me. here's a little something for you to remember your night." and inside, he had laminated the wine labels of the 2 wines we had that evening. It was a classy touch.
Coffee Importers/Blaz'n Blenders: Get a bevy of drinks at popular Dana Point joint
Coffee Importers is a top multi-treat Dana stop in the morning and throughout the day. Located at the harbor, CI enjoys regulars and new visitors alike to get a good fix of premium coffee, espresso, smoothie and entrees, including a variety of sandwich and salad offerings. A good part of the menu is healthy -wheatgrass, garden burgers, whole wheat totrilla wraps with lots of veggies, etc
Service is excellent and swift at the eaterie. Due to the busy nature here, guests receive pagers (pictured) which will ring when the order is ready. I had a wait of about 5 min on my first order of a smoothie here during a somewhat busy time of the day.
Coffee conoisseurs would love the combinations on the "Espresso Bar" menu. Featured Orange County inspired smoothie choices are the Laguna Peach, Huntington Harbor, San Clemente Squeeze and Dana Point Date. A few Italian sodas are also CI specialties to imbibe.
Enjoy your treat in a beautiful large patio deck, adjacent to the coffeehouse, which has been named tops not only in coffee but in "tea"," sweet tooth"(dessert)," sandwich" and "healthy menu" in Dana.
Favorite Dish: Acai smoothie!!!- sweet and healthy

The New York Deli: Almost Too Big !
Tucked in the back of "Reastaurant Row" in the harbour, you have to look for this place. It's very plain, but the food is fantastic. They offer freshly baked NY Rye bread, that you usually have to wait for as it's comming out of the oven. The sandwiches are huge and make 2 meals (or share only with someone special). The chicken soup is home made, not from a can, and you could not make better yourself. Be sure to have the kosher dill pickles that the waitresses drop on the table a you sit down. The pickles are the real deal, salty and snappy: they crack when they break. The steak fries are served well cooked, a dark golden brown, not mushy lite. Bring your appetite, cause you'll need every bit of it.
Favorite Dish: Try the Ruben, a Corned beef or the pastrami sandwich. All are lean, tasty and just done right. With the waitresses accents, you'll swear that you're in Manhatten.

Turk's: A neighborhood bar/restaurant
Turk's is a cute little place near the water. It's one of many places you can get a bite to eat or a drink.
Favorite Dish: I had a clam chowder and crab filled mushroom caps. My friend had the fish & chips. All of it was excellent!

Splashes is this great restaurant at the Surf and Sand Hotel, an upscale hotel in Laguna Beach. The restaurant is literally RIGHT on the beach. There are actually stairs from the restaurant that will take you onto the sand!! The service is great and the view is SPECTACULAR!! This place is known as one of the most amazing views in town!! Actually, THE MOST amazing view in town! Their menu changes daily, but everything is good.
Favorite Dish: Since their menu changes daily, try any of their fresh seafood or salads! They have pizzas and a spa lunch that is a 3 course meal for just US$25!!
Jimmy's famous American Tavern: Typical American Tavern
Although I did not order anything (I only drank coffee in the Mexican cafeteria nearby), I like the atmosphere of the place.
Favorite Dish: Close to the harbour
