At Two Bunch Palms in Desert Hot Springs, California there is a legend. The legend has it that this was Al Capone's desert hide-away.

Now it is a 5 star Spa and resort replete with natural hot springs and thermal mud baths.

Now who would have thought that sitting in hot mud in the middle of the summer months would feel good? Make sure you wear an OLD bathing suit or better yet, wear nothing but a smile. When you first dip you r foot into that nasty looking pile of sludge you might think to yourself, "I'm paying for this?!?!?!" But then you settle in and feel the heat penetrate down to every cell in your body. The tension melts away. Aaaaaaah.

They ply you with lots water while immersed in the mud and keep cool cloths on your forehead so you don't overheat, then you get out and shower (make sure you wash behind your ears because there will be mud in every nook and cranny). The attendant will then take you to a patio room (it's private) and she will wrap you in a cool, wet sheet and you lie on a massage table warmed by the sun, when you have sun-dried it is off to the massage hut for a body and mind bending massage.

I am telling you after that treatment there is NO tension left in your body. There is no tension left to keep you upright, I went back to the villa (The Villa!!!) and slept. ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Most scenic panoramic view of entire Palm Springs Valley from northern-most Desert Hot Springs - great natural hot springs which give the city its name - best budget value for golf at Mission Lakes - Al Capone's hidaway is there at the unmarked Two Bunch Palms - Cabot's Indian Pueblo and charming story of the desert pioneer. New huge Indian Casinos nearby with slots, shows, all casino gambling. Annual Festivals includ Indian - Film - Date Farm - Art festivals regularly. Best value can be found in a rented condo at Mission Lakes as alternative to expensive Palm Springs hotels. Located just 15 min from Palm Springs airport and central Palm Drive.

    Underground geothermal water

Favorite thing: I truly enjoy going to Desert Hot Springs in the middle of summer. The heat does not bother me and I actually find it therapeutic.

Now a writer by the name of Roger Sunpath raises a question...Is the region of Desert Hot Springs an energy vortex?

A vortex is a depression at the center of a whirling mass of air or water which draws things down and in.

Earth energy vortexes are either "positive" or "negative". Evidently, these are spots where the Earth's energies "sun, wind, geological fault lines, geothermal, and alignment of mountain tops" all unite. thus creating "power points".

    Read further at: http://www.deserthotsprings.com/vortex1.htm

Fondest memory: Whether or not Desert Hot Springs is an energy vortex is anyone's guess. Roger Sunpath seems to think so.

All I know is that when I come back from Two Bunch Palms, I have not an ounce of tension in my body.
