Although this mural is not that impressive to me, I like seeing towns making an effort to beautify and improve their downtown areas.

El Centro has a decent little historic district with several buildings of Historical and/or architectural interest. I like the gate to the district and really like the architecture of the church.

The Imperial County Courthouse was built in 1924 using designs by Don W. Wells and Ralph Swearingen. I like this courthouse. I think the old horse trough out front is neat too.

The decor of this deli was very nostalgic and reflected the timeframe associated with its name. The menu tends toward sandwiches, burgers, and similar lighter fare.

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The decor, while not outstanding, is above the average. Same thing with the service. The taste of the food was outstanding. Portions were large. I highly recommend this restaurant. The cost was a little above average; but was worth it.

Favorite Dish: Try the Spicy Minced Beef or the Yellow Curry with Chicken. The Pad Thai is good too.

El Centro is a fun and friendly place in a busy Southern California. Since El Centro is so close to the Mexico border, spanish is spoken with frequency, so you can say 'HOLA - Hello', or 'ADIOS - Bye', 'QUIERO TACO BELL - I want Taco Bell' (just kidding).

Favorite thing: The IVC Pioneers Museum, located across the street from the Imperial Valley College campus. The museum features many historical aspects of this wonderfully peaceful desert community and how the making of the All American Canal founded this area, along with the richness of agriculture.

Fondest memory: The people are great in El Centro, especially Frederic Din www.homeloans.cc.
