Mariposa Grove
This “giant” tree forest is directly at the south entrance of Yosemite. You have the possibility to walk or take a sort of traintour. We drove up with the traintour and went down on foot. This is a forest of Giant Redwood Sequoia Trees. There are about 500 of these in the Mariposa Grove. Some of them more than 2,000 years old. The Grizzly Giant is known for its dimensions. And of course the world Famous Wawona Tunnel Tree, where carriages drove through in the 1800s. Unfortunately the tree is dead nowadays.

Glacier Point
A few miles after the tunnel a dead end road goes up to Glacier Point. It is about 20 km long, before you reach Glacier Point, but it has a breathtaking view of the Half Dome and Vernal and Nevada Falls.

Yosemite Falls
The highest waterfalls in North America, with three falls of in total 740 meters. There is a short footpath that leads to the base of the falls.
