See the entrance to Pixar's campus

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you're an animation geek like me and you happen to be in the Bay Area, you can see the entrance to Pixar quite easily, as its a stop on the Emery-Go-Round.

This is, of course, as far you're going without a meeting, but it's kind of thrilling to see anyway.

Emeryville Restaurants

  • American lunch

Doyle Street Cafe is an American restaurant on, duh, Doyle Street in Emeryville. The neighbourhood has been converted from semi-industrial to dwellings, and there are also small offices here and there. The place was quite packed during lunch hours, but we could find a table without problems. There is an extensive lunch list and also a few daily...

  • All American Diner Experience

Emery Bay Cafe is located in a dull looking building on Christie Avenue, near the intersection to highway 80. Inside, the cafe has a few diner style seats and a bakery. The variety of food is decent, and they provide more than just basic bakery goods -- burgers and alike. All basic special coffees are also available. Prices are ok.The service is...

  • Fusion Pizzas

California Pizza Kitchen is a restaurant chain that specialises, as name implies, in pizzas and other widely known Italian food. The menu has a lot of various items, so everybody should find something to eat.The food is fusion-oriented. There are influences from Far East and China, and they add taste to the Italian base menu. The restaurant itself...

Emeryville Shopping

  • Big-box shopping

East Bay Bridge Center is one of the four big shopping centers in Emeryville, located near the Bay Bridge and the intersection of highways 80 and 580.The center itself is a collection of big-box retail stores, such as CompUSA, OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, Toys'R'Us, and a huge parking lot in front of the buildings. The center is served by...

  • Organic and exotic foods

Trader Joe's is not your basic neighbourhood grocery store -- instead, they specialise in foods that are not easily available in normal stores. Normal food is carried, too.If you have any dietary requirements, this shop is an excellent place to buy your hotel room refreshments and snacks. They have a wide variety of gluten free, low fat, kosher,...

  • Parking lot surrounded by shops

Powell Street Plaza is one of the four shopping centers in Emeryville. It makes me wonder how on earth one can fit four profitable shopping centers in a town with population of 7,000? On the other hand, Emeryville has 20,000 workers, so maybe the owners have done their math.Anyhow, this particular shopping center has a central parking area and...
