Be sure to bring lightweight clothing and shorts if you visit during the summer. It gets so hot, you'll want to peel off your skin and walk around in your bones. You can look down Blackstone (the "main drag", if you will...) and see the heat rising off the asphalt like a mirage. It's a dry heat, though, there's not much humidity, so it could be worse (read: at least you won't have bad hair days to contend with).
