C-Zone Internet Cafe: Best Cafe in Fresno, They sevre the best Boba

I just had The Best smoothie at C-Zone Internet Cafe. I had this Smoothie called Watermelon Rush. Their Drinks can be served with Boba. For those of you who don't know what Boba is, let me tell you. Boba is made from the casava root. They are formed in to these tapioca perals. They have the texture of a gummy bear. When you get these in your Mouth they make your taste buds sing and beg for more. Boba is a huge craze in the asian countries as well a the northwest US and southern Califorina. In recent years, a few shops in fresno have popped up. I have tried several of them. First I tried Boba fusion. Can you say crap. The Boba there is mush, the drinks are nothing to write home about either, Plus the interior looks like a morge. Next I tried Boba Cabana. The Boba was Mediocire at best and the drinks had a left alot to be desired. I had just about given up on finding good Boba Drinks in town when I stumbled accross C-Zone, It's on the corner of Blackstone and Mckinley across from city college. I don't know why more people have not heard of the place. The drinks are amazing, full of flavor, Perfect Boba. Awesome atmosphere, Free Wifi, Bagels muffins and More. I love it. I suggest everyone try it.

Favorite Dish: Watermelon Rush With Boba.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Green apple smoothie with extra Boba
Onion Bagel with cream Cheese
I love everything there. It might be easier to let you know the drinks I dont like....... I let you know when I find one. I love C-Zone. Try it you'll love. Awesome place to kick back.

Huckleberry's: Huckleberry's- Mark Twain's IHOP (and Better)

Huckelberry's is a crazy blend of California meets Southern comfort food- and somehow it works! The interior of the restaurant gives you a Southern bayou feel even though you are in the middle of California.

Open for breakfast and lunch, Huckelberry's offers an array of salads, hot sandwiches, omelets, pancakes, waffles, breakfast favorites, burgers, and southern favorites such as catfish standing alongside of entrees featuring chili and burritos.

The service was friendly and efficient and the food was great! It definitely hit the spot and I would recommend going if you need some good food in your belly in a great family friendly environment.

Favorite Dish: If you go, I would suggest getting breakfast (my favorite). I love the "Little Hotties" skillet called The Mississippi. Made with eggs, onions, peppers, mushrooms, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and covered in Jack cheese. Soooo good I ate the whole plate (no small feat).

Grandmarie's Chicken Pie Shop: A classic Diner in classic Fresno
emilypeg profile photo
emilypeg 9 reviews

You walk into Grandmarie's Chicken Pie Shop and you fell like you're walking back into the 60's. The counter chairs and booths are upholstered in dayglow green vinyl and the case of rotating deserts gives you the feel that you may have seen this place or something like it in a film from another time.

Chicken Pie Shop offers classic diner favorites as well as classic Fresno favorites (that means tri tip is somewhere on the menu) :) The menu ranges from sandwiches, a full breakfast menu served all day(!), and what else but chicken pies!

If you're hungry and want to experience a Fresno institution, then check out Grandmarie's Chicken Pie Shop!

Favorite Dish: I love breakfast. I would suggest getting their tomato, and bacon omelet. Made with tomatoes, bacon, and cheese; and served with hashbrowns and your choice of toast- mmmm, it made my brunch!

La Boulangerie de France: My Favorite Place

The breads

La Boulangerie is a long standing Fresno tradition, having been in business for almost 30 years. It is my very favorite place in Fresno and I go there for breakfast every Saturday morning after going to the Farmer's Market at Shaw and Blackstone. They have a large variety of pastries, breads and cakes and make special seasonal things such as King's Cake. They also serve lunch which consists of a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. Everything is excellent. The pastries are made in the French tradition and are appropriately sweet, not icky sweet like so many American-made pastries. There is both inside and outdoor seating. Don't miss this place if you are coming to Fresno.

Favorite Dish: For pastries, I love the strawberry danish. My favorite cookie is the melt-in-your-mouth pecan sandie. My favorite sandwich is the turkey which is made on three seed bread with raisins. I am getting hungry just thinking about it.

I recently met (in person) VTers Beausoleill and Jeannette1. Beausoleil used to eat here when she visited her daughter who went to school at Fresno State. I took a box of goodies to each of them when I drove to Sacramento to visit them. Even the day old pastries got rave reviews.

My least favorite is probably the scones which I find a little dry compared with Irish scones, but even those are excellent.

My Black Lab gives a 4 paws vote to everything he has been able to taste and he does expect at least a bite of everything that makes it home.

Dinning Area

Ambiance- ever-changing art and ecletic atmosphere, very continental fine dining
Service- Excellent service they have catering and we love it here at the office!
Take out- you can take it with you!
BREAD-FRESH- MMMM Fresh baked bread of all kinds to take home!
Food- Par excellance! Chef Scott Sauer serves up nightly specials that reflect his years of experience on the California coast at Big Sur. A French California Cuisine with complimentary combinations that insist that you clean your plate! They have a pastry chef as well preparing tempting fresh desserts for those who have the room for them. Sous Chef Douglas adds his creative touches to the evening dinning as well. A gastronomical experience that exceeds all expectations and has brought Fresno into the recognizable culinary arena.
Wine seletion and service is exceptional.

Favorite Dish: The fish special is always great, but as choices are seasonal, they only serve the freshest of ingrediants, check out the menu for surprises! Sweet potato fries are the best. I recommend the Pecan Chicken Salad for lunch...MMMM!

Very loud (b/c f the bar) and yet classy restaurant. Doctors, lawyers, and professionals of the N/E area of Fresno and Clovis come to this restaurant. A must eat for any person visiting with a sophisticated pallet. Also must try restaurants in Fresno include.... Five (Champlain and Perrin), The Limelite (NorthWest), ViniVidiVici (Tower District), And also of course RIVERPARK!!!!

Favorite Dish: The sauteed chicken fettuccini in cherry wine is fabulous!!! We also had the bruchetta for an appetizer!!! THE BEST EVER!!! A must have neat the acclaimed Champlain and Perrin area!!!!!!

Boba Cabana: This place has best Tapioca Teas!

Just A Very Cute Boba Girl!

Great people, great service and the absolute best BoBa Teas (or Pearl Teas as it also is known as). They have the lowest price in town. My complete day is to relax at Boba Cabana and enjoy a refreshing Tropicana Express Boba while surfing the net with my laptop. Did I mention they provide free internet? The Coolest!

Favorite Dish: Love the Tropicana Express and Cha Cha drinks. The tapioca is perfect and fresh. Ocasionally, if I miss Starbucks, I'll just have a Caramel Frap WITH BOBA! Just like being at a Starbucks With Balls ;-) Hee Hee. I'll never get enough of this place. My recommendation to everyone!

Red Lobster: Steak and lobster at Red Lobster!

It's weird that the Red Lobster here in Fresno is better than the rest of the cities I've been to.

Favorite Dish: Ordered the same dish (steak & lobster), throughout California & the best ones are in Fresno. Company pays for it, so I didn't care much for the price.

A place called the Santa Fe...

A place called the Santa Fe Hotel has a great Basque restaurant. Everything is served family style.
It has a very homey atmosphere. In the middle of the restaurant they set a long table for the residents of the hotel. At meal time they rang a dinner bell and everyone would file down and take their place at the table. There were bottles of red wine and loaves of bread on the table when everyone arrived. Then the food began to arrive. There was green salad, then beans, stew came next and potato salad with shrimp. As if this wasn't enough then came the main course usually broasted chicken or porkchops. Who had room for the desserts!

Favorite Dish: I'm not sure if my favorite is the potato salad with baby shrimp or the lamb stew with fresh homemade bread.

There generally isn't much to eat in the parks. There are a few restaurants but they are generally far. There are markets however, and most cabins, and inns have a built in small kitchenette. This is great for saving money, and for packing food for picnics.
