Greyhound Bus Station in Fresno, CA

The Greyhound Bus station is downtown near the baseball park and Fulton Mall. This area of downtown doesn't appear to be frequented at all, and so it's very dangerous either by day or night. I did see bicycle mounted police officers pushing homeless drunks away from the station and the downtown area, however. During the 30 minute layover in Fresno, I was able to walk a significant part of Fulton Mall taking the photos for the downtown tips in these pages.

Amtrak San Joaquin Train

Fresno is a stopover of the Amtrak San Joaquin trains which services Central California. Their route connects Bakersfield and Oakland. Stops along the way include Merced, Modesto, and Stockton.

Since my trip started in Los Angeles, I had to take the Amtrak bus at L.A. Union Station to Bakersfield. In Bakersfield, I took the San Joaquin train to Fresno.

The train station in Fresno is in the downtown area. It's within walking distance to many attractions like the Meux Home, the Water Tower, the Legion of Valor Museum, the Fulton Mall, and the Fresno Metropolitan Museum.

I suggest uses a vehicle considering Fresno is sparsely populated. Prefribly a air-conditioned car since our summers are a bit warm.
