Fullerton's Fun Farmer's Market at Downtown Plaza

There are many towns that have farmer's market days throughout So Cal, but this one is probably the most entertaining. Besides food, there is often a concert of local talent, a variety of kids programs and a beer garden which inspires a few individuals to be rather silly and loud, all in good fun though.

There is no short of great quality foods- farm fresh fruits, veggies plus street food like Mexican tamales, Greek hummus, cakes, kettle corn and more. Also, there are vendors selling jewelry and other money-grabbers also had booths. Most of all, it's a great experience with plenty of families, and people young and old.

    Muckenthaler Mansion

Though the name isn't so pretty like, say, Armani, The Muckenthaler is an exquisite cultural center found in an off the beaten path part of Fullerton, miles away from the city center. What's very striking about the setting for this arts and humanties institution isthe hillstop mansion which serves as host in the lovely northern part of the town.

Many in the city in and Orange county do not even know of this cultural center which features an art gallery, reception hall for events and a gif shop. However, the Muck has received some local fame with its hosting of the popular car festival.

For now, look at pictures on the Muck website.

    Enjoy Local Baseball: The Flyers!

by marinarena Updated Jun 15, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Fullerton is a sports town with its World Champion college baseball CSUF Titans and now there is a new team in town to play the old time "golden" sport of America. Formerly the Fullerton Flyers, now the team is the O.C. Flyers! The whole county wants a piece of the diamond action. The team is co-owned by a Desperate Housewife star- the hunky plumber, played by James Denton! You will very likely catch him and perhaps others Hosewives stars at the game. Yeah!

At the CSUF's stadium, the Flyers made their home debut in 2005 to go for the championship in the independent Golden Baseball League.

    See website for updated info!

Talk a walk through the Gardens!

    Fullerton Arboretum

For the horticulture freaks and anyone who likes to take in lovely scenery, go to Fullerton Arboretum, the nicest and biggest one in Orange county. 26 acres of nature's finest cover the northeast part of the Cal State Fullerton campus. Take a self-guided tour or catch a docent-led tour, especially on the weekend. With the arboretum is the lovely Victoria home, Heritage House. One will be taken back to 1800s quaint charm and elegance. There are several interesting events year-round here that are often related to plants and flowers, but also there are activities like teas, cooking demonstrations and even a Halloween haunted fest. Expect other special affairs for the holidays as well.

Japanese Museums to be open soon. Check back for updates!

Arboretum entrance is free, Heritage House tours has suggested $2 donation.

    Fullerton Museum Center

Small and a bit unassuming, the Fullerton Museum Center may be missed by many museum goers. Luckily, I can bring to light this gem of a place.

There are a variety of exhibits here--not just the "fifi" or typical lofty stuff art. Fender guitars, Native American art, art therapy sessions and the plight of migrant farmers have been just some features here on display in various forms.
Admission price for general (adult) is only $4.00. Seniors and students 13+ with id get in for just $3. On theirst Thursday of each month, from 4-8 PM, the price is just $2 for everyone! Yay!

    Fullerton is a hopping place...

Fullerton is a hopping place for art. It really is one of the things I would have to say stands out the most for me, in particular. These paintings are from the Mark Ryden show at the University. The Ringmaster (also called Shelly!) oil painting. If you like this, then you can see more of his art at www.markryden.com I had him sign my catalog from the show tonight and he let me know that this painting is also called Shelly....that makes me happy.

A good garden in North Orange County. Unfortunately, we didn't spend too much time exploring because we went on a hot day.
