There was a sign in Gardena that says, "Welcome to Gardena, Home of the Hustler Casion." The sign's been gone for a few years now. I guess it's better than being know as "Home of the the Normandie Casino." Bet you might not know you can gamble in LA?
Be careful as you leave... Over the last couple years the daily breeze reported a couple muggings that happened near by.
On Fridays, El Pollo Inka is open for Salsa Dancing. If you come early, you can get instruction. It's a great place to meet people. The age of the crowd generally ranges from late 20s to 50s. There's a good mix of different types of people--college students, working professionals, dance afficionados etc.
I met a 80 year old guy named Ernie from Texas that can dance all night long. People come from all over the South Bay to dance here. There's a very good dancer named Carlos that will teach you.
The food here is good too.
The location of the place is great in case you don't feel like Peruvian Food. There's a good Tofu place and a nice Japanese Curry place in the same shopping center
Dress Code:
Casual. Men usually where collared Polos or casual button up shirts. Women come dressed in dresses and shoes to dance in.
