    Favorite thing:

The weather was still chilly so no beach-life here in Carmel or anywhere during my visit. Same applied to locals as seen on these picture: empty beach or some artist building -not sand castles- but sand-mermaids!

    CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA

After a long and so pleasant drive along the scenic drive with views drown in fog (Couldn't see a thing!) the town of Carmel-By-The-Sea appeared.

No plan to stop here but it looked so appealing that a place to stay overnight had to be found quickly as the night was already falling. The first hotels were fully booked but this one THE MONTE VERDE INN had a huge appartment free at a reasonable price. The plus was that it was located right opposite Carmel's mayor's office where the ex-mayor in 1986-88 was Clint Eastwood!

Notice: the *No Vacancy* sign placed after we moved in !!

Address: Monte Verde & Ocean Ave,

    Carmel, CA 93923,

Carmel-By-The-Sea is like a doll-town. All houses and buildings are just not looking like *real-things*. I like the place because of its charmant atmosphere and could not realise I had second thoughs whether visiting it or not!

Favorite thing: Visit the central coast. Carmel is a sleepy little seaside town with nice art gallerys and restaurants. Do the 17 mile drive between Carmel and Monterrey. The Monterrey bay Aquarium is excellent. Further south, Big Sur is fun to drive. Camp out under the Redwoods or campgrounds overlooking the ocean. You'll find lots of great places to stay as you wander along.

  • Blue Sea, Fresh Air, Perfect Summer in Carmel

    by lisabel_smith Written Sep 4, 2010

Favorite thing: We stayed at the Monte Verde Inn. Excellent staff. We were a group of three families that stayed at the Monte Verde Inn. It was a great experience and we enjoyed every bit of it.

Enjoyed the delicious breakfast and hung out at the small coffee shops in the town.

Because its a budget hotel, and for the price it is a very good deal.

We recommend Monte Verde Inn to anyone who is planning a trip to Carmel-by-the-sea.
