    Lady Bird Johnson Grove magic.

Favorite thing: The Lady Bird Johnson Gorve is an easily accessed trail in Redwood National Park, Northern California. The morning I was there was magical, with mist slowly being burned off by the rays of the sun.
The trees here were the best specimens of redwoods I saw on my trip. This place was very special. See my 'things to do' section for more information.

Favorite thing: I'm pretty sure that California has at least one of everything. If you can't find it, you're not looking hard enough. My ultimate favorite thing? It really had to be Point Reye's National Seashore.

    Fondest memory: they're all good

    The National Parks

Favorite thing: Visit Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Giant trees, mountains and narrow roads leading through the wilderness of Eastern California.

Fondest memory: I almost forgot to include Yosemite National Park on my California page. It´s gorgeous. Don´t miss the waterfalls, beautiful valleys and mountains like El Capitan.

Favorite thing: Oddly enough, stop by the Joshua Tree National Monument - just about 45 minutes from Palm Springs. The Southern California desert is a beautiful. magical place - and the last of the Western frontier.

Fondest memory: I was born and raised in California, so it will always be close to my heart. You cannot beat the weather!

Favorite thing: rent a car and head for the mountains, the High Sierra. Yosemite National Park, though scenically stunning, is horrifically crowded in summer. If you can't take the crowds, go to the nearby King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks instead.

Favorite thing: We spent four days at Stinson Beach,(over the Golden Gate Bridge from S.F.).We rented a cabin amongst the pines 100 yds from the surf, the smells were amazing, the whole area reminded me so much of Scotland. The Point Reys Nat. Park is only a few miles up the road(epicentre of the 1906 quake)A visit to this site(good visitor centre)really brings home to you how insignificant man is to earths forces.

Fondest memory: In complete contrast to the above my fondest memory is spending almost the whole day with my son on the Back To The Future ride at Universal Studios!
