This will be my shopping tips.
Since Opening in 2008, This new icon of Glendale cemented the city's reputation as the luxe big mall destination in the Greater Los Angeles Area (Beverly hills takes the cake in the ultra luxe shopping due to the Rodeo Drive) and in the small area of American Street, sits 3 big malls that offer shopping, malling, dining and bar options to the masses and the largest is the Americana at Brand and nearby is the Glendale Galleria and Glendale Fashion Center.
This mall is designed to simulate a City Center and comes with it's own private park where you can mill around and the park is surrounded by the buidlings housing the different shopping retailers, restaurants and bars where you can shop and eat till you drop.
Hours: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday, restaurants and bars closed much later.
What to buy: among the commercial establishments you can find in this luxe mall include: Barnes and Noble, Barneys New York CO-OP, J.Crew, Apple, Kiehl's, The Cheesecake Factory, Anthropologie, Nordstrom, XXI Forever flagship, H&M and Urban Outfitters, Pinkberry, an 18-theater Pacific Theaters cinema, American Eagle Outfitters, Calvin Klein, Gilly Hicks, Free People, Armani Exchange, Balizza, Tiffany and Co., Juicy Couture, and GUESS? to name a few.
Most of the restaurants at The Americana are local concepts, such as Frida Mexican Cuisine, Chi Dynasty, and Trattoria Amici.
What to pay: maxxed out your credit card.
This is a pretty big shopping mall. They have several stores such as Nordstroms, Macy's Abercrombie & Fitch, William Sonoma, Hugo Boss, Coach, Banana Republic, Everything but Water, Hot Topic, Lego, Target, Victoria Secret and Vans to name a few. On this particular visit, a week before Easter, the mall provided opportunities for children to be photographed with the Easter bunny (for a cost). Also, on this particular visit, a pianist provided entertainment inside Nordstroms.
What to buy: Anything and everything
What to pay: Average to a lot
Outdoor shopping center modeled after the Grove shopping area at 3rd and Fairfax. High end stores, stores not typical for most shopping malls and huge parking structure placed right next door to the Glendale Galleria!
What to buy: Lots!
