View from Panoramic Point

Panoramic Point is easily accessible from Grant Grove Village by a 2.5-mile long road that twists and turns to a parking area for the point. The Panoramic Point road is closed in winter and is not recommended for trailers or RVs. From the parking area, a trail leads 500-yards uphill to the viewpoint. At the viewpoint, a plaque names the peaks in view. The panorama encompasses the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Crest (Mt. Goddard, North Palisade, etc) as well as Kings Canyon, Tephite Valley, the Monarch Divide, and a small portion of the Great Western Divide (or it might be the Kings-Kern Divide. Not to sure.) Anyway, the vista is astounding, so don't miss it.

keida84 Says:  When we went to the Grant Grove Cabins one was able to rent a rustic cabin (no lights, heat, ensuite bathroom) for $29.00 per night in the middle of winter. Now the Rustic cabins have been outfitted with electricity, propane heaters and are carpeted. They share a common bath...
