Parking is a nightmare in Hermosa Beach, particularly on the weekends and especially in summer. Your best bet is to simply park in one of the structures or lots that are on Hermosa Avenue north or south of Pier Avenue and to walk from there. There is metered parking on the streets, but it's limited, always taken, and you need quarters. Theme: Car/Motor Home

Though it's not in Hermosa Beach...you can see it on a clear day. Take the Catalina Express to Catalina Island. Leave a Comment Directions: Go South to San Pedro to Catch the closest ferry...there's also a great pier there too! Allow an hour to get there. (It's only 20 minutes away...but you're on the LA freeways the dreaded 405!

Head down to the pier early, especially if you are driving. Parking spots are limited. It's best to stay in a near by hotel or rent a house close by. Enjoy the beach, the bars and the restaurants all in walking distance. There is great fishing off the pier and the volleyball is outstanding.
