  • Warner Brothers Studio Tour

There are several studio tours in the Hollywood area. One that is really not well known but probably the closet there is to a true tour is the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. This is a 2.5 hour tour through the backlot of Warner Brothers.

Unlike other tours there is a ratio of about 12 people to 1 tour guide, with the main mode of transportation being a Golf Cart. The guide did have main points to go over from one place to another, but there were several points where we could ask questions. This gives a real personal touch to the tour.

One of the highligts was beging able to go into the Prop warehouse and Carpentry shop to see a lot of vintage pieces.

The one downside is that photos are not allowed in several areas. During these times the guides will lock up all the cameras in a Lock Box on the golf cart. This is not during the entire tour just some parts.

To take the tour you must have valid Goverment Issued ID such as a Passport or Drivers License.

Once upon a time, the area called Hollywood was the home to many movie pioneers. As you can see, many of these historic sites are not in ruins today..... In fact they continue to be thriving production factories.

For avid movie buffs, if you have some time to spare, why not sign up for a Studio's Tour?

Address: 5500 Melrose Avenue, Central Hollywood.

I'm not too sure how the Paramount story began but I DO know that when the great Adolph Zukor took over Paramount Pictures (and the new production company was named Paramount Pictures)..... the then-America's Sweetheart (no, NOT Julia Roberts...!) - Mary Pickford
provided the box-office punch for Zukor as he built Paramount into the nations leading film company to what it is today. Paramount's roster of stars included the great Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson, Clara Bow, Gary Cooper, the comedy team Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, Cary Grant, W.C. Fields, Mae West, William Holden as well as Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Paramount was home to a stable of world-famous movie directors like Cecil B. de Mille.

    Watch a film shoot...

by Yubert Written Aug 15, 2004

If you can get on a studio lot, you might see them actually shooting a movie or video.

In this case, I was on the Paramount Pictures lot and watched them film a TV series called 1-on-1, or something like that.

If you can get on the Paramount Studio's lot, you can sit on the real Forrest Gump's bench like I did.
