Farmers Market, Hollywood
The Farmers Market is actually not a farmer's market as one expect it to be.
It is a very cozy food courtyard where you can have food from all over the world. Locals love to visit this spot so it is not tacky touristy.
I have had so many good stuff to eat here!
I reallly recommend you to go!
In the late 1800's this was a dairy farm. Oil was discovered and the land made way. In time a market place was set up at this location for the local farmers to bring their products to sell to the oil company employees. The smelly, unsightly oil derricks made way to movie, and later TV studios. The Farmers Market found a new customer, those working in the film industry.
During Breaks, stars, directors and film crews would find their way to the market to have a meal of the offerings. In time tourists began frequenting the place in hopes of running into a real "Star." Early one this happened quite often. Not so much now-a-days.
Still this is a great place to stop for a bite to eat and now the high-end shopping center, The Grove is just next to The Farmer's Market so it has been re-vitalized and more popular than ever before.
A tram runs from one end to the other so if walking is not your thing this is a nice way to explore what is offered here.
We really enjoyed the farmers market so much we went back twice. We wne ton the bus which stopped just outside. There was a live band one time we went which was lovely. The old tram is in fantastic condition and free Too. a must is the cheese factory were the afters is to die for... YUM
