Don't necessarily tour the Dolby...
check it out on the outside!
Dolby Theater (formerly the Kodak Theater), home of the Academy Awards is featured along Hollwyood Blvd. Most of us will not be able to score an invite to the Oscar show but there are concerts and other events that occur here throughout the year. This is by no means the greatest venue for concerts. Inside , the decor is lovely and the views are fair to good.
If you feel the Dolby tour is a must, it's $15 (price subject to change-i.e., go higher. The official tour when the theater was Kodiak costs $12. However, look for occasional discount offers on the official Dolby site.
Unique Suggestions: Park the car and take the red line here if you can. You'll arrive just steps away from the entrance.
Fun Alternatives: see a concert at Univeral Amphitheater ( well, now, it is called Gibson Theater!!) on the Universal Studios Theme Park grounds, or at the Greek Theater in L.A./Hollywood area.

See Mann's Chinese but don't watch movies here...
Go ahead and snap away at the famous Grauman's Chinese structure here while battling for your turf to stand amongst the plethora of tourists wandering around.
If you want to catch a movie playing, seek out a nearby theater which is bound to cost less than the historic Chinese. Cinema box office prices are outrageous here, among the highest for the standard theaters in southern CA. This is indeed the case of paying for the tourist-hole Hollywood hype. A non-matinee ticket for an adult exceeds $13. Of course, the 3-D flicks will be an additional hit to the wallet.
Grauman's Chinese at the Hollywood and Highland complex, has 6 luxurious plush red theaters and a swanky adult lounge which serves beer and wine
Unique Suggestions: Find out if a celebrity will be honored at an imprint ceremony
or if there is a movie premiere

I have no problem with it, but certain relatives seem to think that the reason cart vendors don't put prices on their wares is so they can give everyone different prices. The more well off you look, the more money they'll ask from you. I don't agree with those relatives of mine, but it's something to consider.
The parking here costs a bomb!...
The parking here costs a bomb!
Well, that's my very good friend who also didn't enjoy being in this part of town. He parked his car for one hour at the hotel because he had to pick me up and bring me over to Long Beach... Get this: his parking charge came to a grand total of US$10 for less than one hour! Gee, this really surprised us both because we didn't expect Hollywood to be this expensive!
Maybe all these things just made the both of us not enjoy Hollywood.....
