Mrs Olsen's coffee hut named by Esquire Magazine as one of the top 50 places to have breakfast in the US!
Small, noisy and sometimes a long wait (20 to 30 minutes) during the week ends. Great potatoes, excellent pancakes and good coffee.
The service is very good and if you like the service ring the bell...
Tip: If the back patio is open try sittting out there, very relaxing.
open Tuesday through Sunday
7 am to 2 pm
Very casual dress
Favorite Dish: Santa Fe potatoes and eggs (good for those who don't eat meat). Chicken Fried Steak for those who like biscuits and gravy. I love their oatmeal as well as the Corrienne's special which is a pancake sandwich.
Lunchtime: Turkey reuben on rye! Fresh roasted turkey, cheese, sauerkraut and 1000 island dressing along with an "Arnold Palmer" which is half ice tea half lemonade.

Hollywood Beach's most famous resident, Fairy Kat Mother (keida84), took me to Mrs. Olsen's for our final meal together (well, on this trip anyway!). She said it can be crowded but on a Tuesday morning at 9 am we had lots of tables to choose from so we opted to sit on the back patio so we could get a little sunshine before I headed back to the harsh weather conditions in Chicagoland.
Favorite Dish: Kat's "sister" Kris recommended the pumpkin pancakes and since I'm a card carrying member of Pancakes Anonymous (along with fellow VTer Jo104) and love the taste of pumpkin, it was an easy choice. I thought two pancakes sounded like a nice sized meal after we had eaten our way down the coast of California but when they came out they were as big as my head! Needless to say, I couldn't finish them but they sure were tasty!

Keida84 brought me to this wonderful neighborhood restaurant to start our day together. It can definitely get crowded-that means that the food's good.
Good food, wonderful neighborhood, terrific friendly service in a local restaurant-there's nothing better when travelling.
Open Tues-Sun 7am-2pm
Favorite Dish: I had a simple plate of pancakes-deelish! And they make Arnold Palmers too!
