    HB is for dogs too!

by Scandic Written Dec 3, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Dog Beach, located on Pacific Coast Highway between 21st Street and Seapoint Street, offers a stretch of beach where your pet is free to roam without a leash. Open from 5am – 10pm, you can frolic in the surf with your canine pal and work on your tan at the same time. Parking meters charge $1.50 per hour.

Fondest memory: Huntington Central Park is home to Dog Park, just off Edwards Street on Inlet Drive near Lake Huntington. Dog Park has separate fenced sections for small and large dogs, with amenities including benches, tables and water. It is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 10am to 5pm on weekends. Parking and entry are free but donations are welcome.

Favorite thing: Main Street is great for shopping. There are some cute stores and a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!

Fondest memory: There've been a few memorable nights...I'd have to rank my 23rd birthday barhopping bash as the best.

    Something tickled his fancy!

by bugalugs Written Feb 25, 2003

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: As we only stopped here by chance we did not really see as much as we would have liked. California is such a huge state and time was very limited.

However we enjoyed our paddle and hopefully one day we may visit again.

by bugalugs Written Feb 25, 2003

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: As Huntington Beach is famous for surfing, there is a Surfing Museum situated on Olive Street.
It is a haven for surfing enthusiasts, telling the history of surfing, and you can listen to the Beach Boy's surfing songs.

Favorite thing: Taking cues from Hollywood, Huntington Beach salutes legendary surfers with a cemented salute.
Celebrated surfers include Kelly Slater (his marking pictured).

Follow the surfing walk of fame along Main and P.C.H.

    Know about Surf Turf Debate

Favorite thing: Seeking out stories behind the city...

Surf City is a phrase that stirs up debate between H.B and another California city, Santa Cruz. Both claim this title, though, arguably, H.B. better represents and markets "Surf City" throughout the city on streets and business.

  • The best part of Huntington...

by ButterflyA Updated Aug 25, 2002

Favorite thing: The best part of Huntington Beach is of course the beach area. There are great surf shops like Huntington Surf and Sport, lavish hotels and if you walk out to the end of the pier there's a great fifty's style diner (can't remember the name)overlooking the water. The state beach actually has bonfire pits that can be used until around 10 or 11 at night. This is a must. There aren't many beaches where it's still legal to have a bonfire!!!!!

Fondest memory: My fondest memory is probably going to the park in the center of town with my aunt as a child. There are geese and gymnasiums and some of the most beautiful flowers you've ever seen.
