PERQS Bar: "We've gotta ticket to ride...."
Went in here and met some really amusing locals...
Rob, Barny a Hispanic chap and I had people coming off the street to see what was going on when we were all singing "We've gotta ticket to ride...we've gotta ticket to ride....and we don't care"
Dress Code: No worries...anything
It's undergoing renovation at the moment but still open for business...
Killarenys Irish Bar: More Beer.....
Typical Irish Theme Bar pretty much the same as we find in the UK.....and definitely nothing like a traditional Irish Pub...however, lively and worth a visit
Dress Code: What you want but again in the US, carry some form of ID - proof of age
Lively Irish Theme bar with Live Bands on some nights....I saw the Skatanik Rednecks here during my brief stay...good beer...good crowd
Dress Code: Whatever you want...but you must carry ID..even if you're an ageing 40 year old like me :-)
Sharks Club: Sharks Club
A big fishie tank in the middle of the club with, you guessed it, sharks. Also, you can reserve large areas with pool tables for functions such as birthdays, etc, etc. Careful though, this is one of the few clubs where I've actually seen the bartenders cut off revelers. :o)
Dress Code: Club-y casual
BARHOPPING! When my friends...
BARHOPPING! When my friends and I go down here at night, we like to start off at HB BREWING COMPANY Why? I don't kow, its just become tradition.
There's another little bar on the street (sorry, I can never remember the name) but they have a drink called The Clam. Its a mix of all kinds of Rum and juices and it comes in a huge clam-shaped bowl with many straws so you can share with friends. This idea is pretty disgusting when sober, but can be highly amusing at other times. We usually end up at HURRICANE'S at the end of the night. This is a dance-bar that has a live band. If you're lucky it'll be a middle-age cover band. This can be very fun as well. A very mixed crowd.
Dress Code: Casual
Aloha Bar & Grill: Top Jukebox.....
Jukebox that downloads tunes off the net...so the choice is great....especially all the old British Punk that I like
Dress Code: No restrictions...just ID as usual
The Longboard: pub on the main strip...
Another place to chill out with a cool beer or three....
Dress Code: No restrictions.... remember your ID though..
Crabby's: And Even More Beer......
another lively spot, part of the drinking loop round town that most seem to do, especially at weekends....
Dress Code: anything and an ID card....
