Just a note to let you know that if you park in a Disabled Parking Space, without having a California Disabled Placard or Disabled License Plate on your car, you will be fined over $300.00!
I know it is tempting when you come to the beach in the summer and find that everyone has gotten there before you and all the spaces are full, even up the side streets. Just don't do it.
Don't even think about it. It's forbidden by local city law.
A. No person shall park or leave unattended any vehicle upon the beach area of the city.
B. Overnight Parking Prohibited--Beachfront Area Street-ends. It is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle overnight on any street west of Seacoast Drive. For the purpose of this section, "overnight parking" means parking at one or more locations on a street-end between the hours of ten p.m. and seven a.m. except on Palm Avenue.
It's not Europe - parking places are usually marked along streets and first of all they are much bigger than in Europe - just for American size of cars.
No worry - you can always leave your car without any gymnastics hehe.
I don't know how does it works in summer weekends but the traffic was very light when I was there before Friday's midday in April.
Just notice that you meet STOP signs in front of each intersection while driving around smaller streets in residential areas. So stop and drive, stop and drive - again and again - happy stopping :-)).
