Julian is noted for it's apple pie and Mom's Pies is a great place to get a taste of the all American apple pie. It seems that the dough is being constantly shaped into the pie tins to fill the racks with apple pies waiting to be snatched up by apple pie hungry folks who drove a long way just to get the best lip smacking, finger licking good apple pie.

You can view the process through the front windows of Mom's Pies or step inside if you dare to watch close up and personal. The aroma of pies baking and the sight of all kinds of pies, including chicken pies will have you ready to sit down and chow down.

Favorite Dish: Well, I loved the apple crumb and really had a great chicken pie I brought back to my home to enjoy. Delicious, but then you do have other pies to choose from like the Flaky Apple, French Crumb, Apple Crumb, Apple-cherry, Apple-Boysenberry, and you get the picture. Good old Apple Pie made fresh right inside the street side window of Mom's Pies. If you go on a weekend, remember that the town is small and parking is available behind Mom's store, up on the hill.

This restaurant has an old-time quality with a stove my greatgrandmother used. They serve sandwiches (all that sugar has to be balanced with some real food), but the real thrill is the pies. It's in the middle of the main street and easy to find.

Favorite Dish: We each had a sandwich and then shared an apple-cherry pie a la mode. It was wonderful. Order anything with apples in it and you'll get the proper experience. Order anything from the traditional apple pie to apple crumb, apple-boysenberry, or sugar-free apple.
