A cool place to learn about the preservation of wolves in California. After a brief slide show, we got a chance to see the wolves in person. Unfortunately, we weren't able to view the wolves up close. The whole experience runs an hour and a half.

My friends and I had an amazing time at the hour-long Sky Tour at Observer's Inn. Mike, our guide showed us different constellations with his amazing laser pointer that shoots all the way to the sky. We also go to look at different stars and planets through his powerful telescopes. We learned a lot about astronomy that night and can't wait to go back again!
Hours: 9pm (reservation required)
$20 per person. $10 a person if you stay at the Inn.

A tour of one of the mines is an interesting and educational experience. The guide that took us through the mines had great stories, explained how all the equipment we came across worked, and kept the tour from being dull. The kids (and let's face it, adults too!) can pan for gold outside the mines. There's a gift shop with gold and gems and historical artifacts to buy. There's a giant pink quartz crystal and a huge milling machine....both great photo opts.
Julian is the home of The Julian Pie Company. You can also purchase their pies at different stores in the San Diego area. However, probably the best way to enjoy their pie is to take a drive to Julian and enjoy a cup of coffee with a piece of apple pie `a la mode.
Country Carriage's ride through the Julian countryside in an authentic, old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage...
A romantic sunset ride through Julian's gently rolling meadows and pine forests is an experience you won't soon forget. It's also a great place to snuggle under a down comforter on a cold winter day. Some B&B's are close enough to town that you can use the carriage as romantic dinner transportation. Make an appointment and you won't be disappointed!
