This one of those wonderful little restaurants that has stayed in business for many years due to the good food and the home town charm. Yet there seems to be some disparity with how the owner may reacted to their customers. I hope it is not so.
This sign on the front says Bldg Est. 1920, which makes it very historical at least.

Favorite Dish: KERNVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The view from the restaurant is beautiful, but the food was awful. My "garlic mashed potatoes" were made from a powdered mix and the lettuce in the salad was spoiled. I would suggest eating at "That's Italian" instead. A waste of $40!
There's a panoramic window with fantastic views of the Kern River as well as raccoons that run along the walkway outside the window.
The raccons are well trained to beg for food as they stand up on their rear legs, pressing their faces against the glass, looking in while you're eating.
Restaurant has a rustic Country & Western motifs.
Favorite Dish: Prime Rib.
We stopped and took a picture in front of the Cheyenne
Stage Stop Restaurant, which wasn't open till 5pm, but,
we liked the name so much, and so did our daughter,Cheyenne-
Surrounding the place are various interesting pieces of
years gone by...an old water pump, and farming equipment
are scattered under the shade trees with paths running in
between, and offer much in the way of antique atmosphere!
Nice little dining hall!
Favorite Dish: They serve seafood, steaks, chicken, and ribs.
Idyllic atmosphere, eating by the rambling river.
Favorite Dish: Spam and pancakes for breakfast and chili cheese dogs for dinner, yummy!
