This sake bar is wedged between Osteria Romantica and Yummy Sushi and is one of the newer places at The Shores.
It's sort of a sports--sake--bar with big screen TVs and sake bottles along the the wall. Just the place for those late night gatherings after a day of surfing or kayaking.
Side walk sipping is offered, but any sports minded person would take a seat with a big screen TV view and enjoy the game of the night.
I haven't tried it out myself but have heard good things about it and I do like the way it looks, which is the first step.

Designer casual would be best if you want to impress.
The Whaling Bar & Grill opened just after WW II. The floor-to-ceiling window over looks the Pacific Ocean and is quite impressive. However, it is the ivory, pewter and wood accents that help give it an old world pub feel. The miniature paintings and behind the bar, a large work titled, "Whale's Last Stand" as well as the murals done by Wing Howard completes the pub-near-the-sea theme.
Order a creamy, "The Whaler" from the bartender to draw yourself in the picture.
