What a find! Small restaurant hidden in a shopping center on Foothill Blvd. There are so many different tastes to Guyuanan cuisine. It has the usual Carribean tases - plaintains, cod fish, rice as well as an Indian influence. The owner is very friendly and will make special dishes for you if you ask. The food can be spicy but is unlike anything I've ever tasted. And inexpensive too!

The pizza is super, especially if you aren't into the greasy pizza's some places have. Their prices aren't cheap, but if you go on-line to their site you can get coupons to use but they can only be used during the week, not on the weekends. I also love the cheese Ravioli, but I get it with marinara sauce, instead of the one on the menu--yum!

My favorite restaurant is Hero's in old town LaVerne. It is an old style saloon with outdoor dining in warm weather. The food is good and the portions are generous.
The atmosphere os casual...saedust on the floor;pictures of the town in 'olden' days, an interesting bar.
Favorite Dish: I prefer the lunch menu and my favorite is the club sandwich with fries.

By auto from the 210 (Foothill) Freeway: exit E-bound at Foothill Blvd., continue E to 'D' St., S to Old Town and ULV; exit W-bound at Fruit St, turn S to Bonita Ave, turn W to Old Town and ULV.
Auto is most convenient.

Hiking/riding/biking trails in the San Gabriel foothills encounter year-round creeks, live oak woodlands and scenic vistas. Access at Marshall Canyon Equestrian Center on Golden Hills Rd., trailhead above Marshall Canyon Golf Course, or Claremont Wilderness Park.
