Why is Laguna Beach worth taking the time to write VT pages about?
In a nutshell, walking the beach and the glorious sunsets.
Here is a quick low-resolution sunset shot from a cheap cr@ppy digital camera.

SUNSETS in LAGUNA BEACH

The Beach House is a surf & turf type of restaurant, perched directly above the ocean in Laguna Beach. They're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily & brunch on the weekends. Here's the deal: From 4:30pm until their variable cutoff time (6:00pm at this writing), they offer special dinners called Sunset Specials, at reduced prices. Nine dinners are offered now, including lobster tail, Black Angus prime rib or filet mignon, and a number of fish dishes. These dinners include steamed veggies and rice, pasta or potato. Prices currently range from $11.95 to $19.95. These are pretty good deals for this area. Calling for reservations is highly suggested.
P.S. they have other coastal locations in Dana Point (a few miles south) and in Cardiff by the Sea (north San Diego county)
The beaches of Laguna are very beautiful and diverse. I really like the sandstone stone bluffs especially at sunset when the sun is shining directly on the layers of earthy colors like gold and light brown with touches of rust. It's fun to walk along the shore and in some places there are even natural arches and sea caves which can be explored during low tide.
We had a very nice beach in the back of our resort at the Montage. It was very nice for relaxing, sunbathing and just taking in the beauty of the area. We were able to see a gorgeous sunset before our dinner at the Studio, the more formal restaurant at the Montage. The white sand, the palm trees, and interesting sandstone formations of the rocks were truly a great sight to behold in this Southern California Beach town.
There are also nice walking paths that lead all along the ocean. A great place to photograph, also. We watched some celebrity being photographed down on the beach with tons of photographers which was fun to watch, also.
Laguna has one of the few 'Bark Parks' - a place to take your dog. It's on the way to the ocean, on the left side of the canyon.
Take a walk along the beach, enjoying the beautiful sunset. People will be playing either volleyball or basketball all around you, and the weather is always nice.
Don't miss sunsets from the beach, one of the best things about Laguna.
