Award-winning greenbelt along Sierra Highway is the Sierra Bike Trail. It starts at Avenue J in Lancaster and ends at Avenue P in Palmdale. This at least a 14 mile bike trail that is beautiful landscaped and taken care of, that runs along between the metro link tracks and Sierra Highway. Don't worry they have one side fenced from the railroad tracks and partioned off from Sierra Highway. The benches are in various locations along the way if you need to stop and take a break. As you get closer to Palmdale they have covered areas to relax and rest. It is wonderfully done and a great and safe way to travel and enjoy the outdoors.

Equipment: Make sure to bring water with you!!:-)

Jethawks Baseball

The Lancaster Jethawks started out in town around the time I was leaving for college.. but I did love to come back to my hometown and enjoy an evening out at the old BallPark (even if it is a new ballpark).

The Jethawks play from April through September, so head out and catch a game!

Jethawks a minor league baseball club is a really unique sports activity Lancaster has going for its self. The have their own baseball team, which to some that live the big cities probably think, so what! Yet, around here we care and think it is a pretty cool thing to have and Lancaster takes alot of pride in it too! The gift shop and ticket sales is usually open all the time. Just give them a call first.

Equipment: It does get windy here at times so be prepared for that. Just because it is the desert, it does get freezing cold. So bundle up for during the winter months from Oct-Mar. During the summer months April -Sept, oh boy, it gets hot here from anywhere from 90 to 105 degrees, so dress accordingly.
