Alabama Hills Cafe: I love a good breakfast burrito!

by blueskyjohn Updated Jul 19, 2014

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Very small location with no more than 10 tables. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. It was a typical indoor seating for a cafe. The staff were very friendly and service was fast. I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was very good. Stuffed with three eggs, cheese, potato and chorizo. I would definitely stop in for this again. Maybe get it to go and eat in the park.

    Margie's Merry-go-round: Good asian food

by blueskyjohn Updated Jul 19, 2014

Nice location on Main street. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I chose outdoor. It was nice, in front of the location. I was there late and not many people. However the wait staff was very slow and it took some time for me to place my order and get my bill at the end of the meal.

They do have a large selection of Chinese and American food on the menu. I ordered a chicken and vegetable stir fry. It was pretty good but closer to average. Nothing really outstanding. There are other places in Lone Pine I would go before returning.

Bonanza Mexican Restaurant: Rustic and Comfortable

by Yaqui Written Dec 13, 2008

Popped in here for a quick lunch and found a very charming rustic restaurant. Nothing fancy in the least, but was homie and comfortable. Found the food good and the service excellent. Seems this is a favorite for locals too. Could not beat the price either.

    Seasons: Gourmet Dining

by Hopkid Written Aug 12, 2006

One wouldn't expect to find a higher-end restaurant in a town of 2,000 but maybe Seasons has made it's mark because of the frequent movie crews that come to town. Primary on the menu are steaks of every imaginable cut and cooked to your preference. Since we were there the night before our climb of Mt. Whitney we opted out of a heavy steak and instead ordered the grilled salmon salad as an entree. This is definitely a entree-sized salad with lots of greens and a large piece of salmon filet. Very filling and well seasoned/cooked. Service was good and attentive. Even though many entrees were around $20, the place was doing a pretty brisk business on a Friday night.

    Favorite Dish: Grilled salmon salad

Whitney Portal Store: Don't miss the UFO Pancakes!

by girladventure Updated Sep 12, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Whitney Portal Store is the only store/cafe located at the Mt. Whitney trailhead. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kitchen closes at 6:30pm but the store closes at 8pm. Limited items on the menu for lunch and dinner- burgers, fries and chicken sandwich.

Ernst (worldtrekker) with his own UFO pancake. UFO Pancakes -- don't be greedy, share!
