The art of L.B.
Perhaps the most vibrant, artistic part of the city is the street art. On downtown sidewalks there are eye-catching "meter boxes" (that may cover street meters?) with brightly drawn figures like this one below.
Fondest memory: I miss the brightness of the town whenever I am away !
One thing that is wonderful, is being able to offer people a much safer way of crossing the streets and Long Beach thankfully thought of it. The walkway is part of the promenade that passes in front of the Long Beach Convention Center, Hyatt Hotel across the road to the waterfront areas.

This walk around the coast, the harbour I enjoyed most.Walk to Shoreline village and around the harbour.Beautiful views, very clean area.See the fisherman, take a look at the Queen Mary from the roundwalk/harbour.
Fondest memory: the harbour area.
I visited Long Beach on the saturday after Thanksgiving. There have been not many people around and I found a perfect parking lot next to the Long Beach Arena.Wyland;artist best known for painting large, outdoor murals of whales and other ocean life.Wyland whaling wall at the Long Beach Arena was completed on May.3 1992 and is whaling wall Nr.33.It is a 10story depiction of ocean life.I am glad he did it because it was beautiful to see this art.
Fondest memory: The walk around the harbour.
Favorite thing: Just when you think that you're in the most city area of the city, you see squirrels all over the place. I was near the campus of Long Beach State and the Veteran's Memorial Hospital when I got this shop of this nutty character. Let's call her Ashy, for the sake of this tip. Ashy was minding her own business along a wall, looking for a nut, definitely not of the human variety. Usually, squirrels get scared off by us but if we're close enough they'll try to scrape us a bit. I got close enough to get this shot without Ashy going crazy on me!
