    Buy a boat

I am sure the thought will cross your mind as you drive around and see all the lovely boats in the marina.
There are hundreds of boats that have been repossed here .
Of course that does make you stop and wonder if you can really afford to own one either.

Port of Long Beach has long ago been established as the busiest seaport in the nation. The city’s harbour is adjacent to the Port of Los Angeles. Cargo growth has hit double digits in the past two decades.

    Fly in a real Biplane!

Fly in a real Biplane! See the port, Queen Mary, Palos Verdes, Point Fermin, etc. from the front seat of a 1930s Navy Stearman.
Long Beach Airport is a relic from the 'Golden Age of Flight.' The DC3 was designed and built here and it is the place where the C-17 is built now. There is a company called BIPLANE FLIGHTS that operates from Hanger 11. You go up and do acrobatics, scenic cruises, etc. They even have a Biplane that seats two people up front for romantic flights. It's a blast. I did loops, turns, hammerheads and got to take the stick and fly level. All of this for under $200.00 They have some rides for as little as $99.00 This is something you don't find anywhere and I will certainly be back for more!

    Look Ma, no hands!

Ever imagine flying in an open...

Ever imagine flying in an open cockpit along the shoreline of the Pacific coast in a vintage biplane?
A husband and wife team own and operate this LB treasure. I see them fly over my house nearly everyday. The view of the coastline and the local cities are unbeatable, as is the feeling of the wind in your hair. If you are lucky, you might even get to take the controls. On my flight I was able to look down and see whales in their migratory path. A breathtaking experience.

Actually, I live about 10 miles south of Long Beach. If you are a college student or have a college student ID, I would recommend that you go to the Getty Museum on the 405 fwy at the Getty Museum turnoff about 5 miles north of the 10 fwy. The only charge is $5 for parking. The museum buildings are super, the views are great, the art is memorable. There are many museum volunteers to help you along and explain things. The best $5 deal in Los Angeles.
Excellent museun facilities, mountain top views of Los Angeles, excellent collection of art, good food at reasonable prives.
