Naples is one of two towns in Southern California with canals, the other is Venice, and is just a short distance from Long Beach so if you have a little extra time stop by and take a stroll down the streets with Italian names looking at the eclectic mix of architecture from Victorian to Craftsman to Mission style homes. If the weather is nice you might even spot a gondola on the canal that you can hire for a ride, the guidebook suggests that you reserve in advance. I didn't see any gondolas but that didn't surprise me as it was early March and only in the 60s.
