Long Beach: The Old and the New

    Thanks for the photo Nancy!

This photo of me and Jenn was sent from Nancy, "Goner" (The Flash on my camera is broken so I don't have my own photos) and this one symbolically represents my old memories of Long Beach and the new, vivacious place that it is now.

Especially don't miss the harbor and marina areas.

These are a blast for two or for the whole family. Any chance we get, we like to rent one of these to explore the shores. These bring smiles to the little ones and the big kids.

This is a great place if your looking to eat and shop. Lots of wonderful restaurants and if your not looking for something really fancy, there is plenty of walk up eateries. Lots of different types of stores. Many are souvenirs shops, but there are a some very unique shops too.

If you want to be in the city but do not want to feel like you are there, escape to Shoreline Village. This quaint part by the marina has the look of an eastern US coastal town, perhaps Boston. Enjoy a nice stroll here, ride on the paddle boats, eat some seafood or a nice big pizza slice. See more pics in travelogues.

Relax and unwind on a unique cycle experience in Long Beach's Shoreline Village, located in the harbor next to the Long Beach Convention Center.
Enjoy one of the many single or multi passenger cycles available for all ages. Take in the stunning views of Shoreline Village, which is modeled after a 19th century fishing village. Glide along the water's edge on a tandem bicycle, or ride with the whole family on the three to eight passenger surreys. View sites such as Parker's Lighthouse, which now acts as both a restaurant and lighthouse, and the beautiful Long Beach harbor.
You can even take a bicycle tour of Shoreline Village and Seal Beach. The shoreline path that runs along the water's edge is perfect to take in the scenery and enjoy the ocean breeze. Take a look at the historic Queen Mary, Rainbow Lagoon, Treasure Island, the quaint Italian village of Naples, and more. Bike tours come with a comfortable and adjustable bike, helmet, lock, map, and more to enhance your experience. Wheel Fun Rentals Bike Tour.

  • Enjoyed the popcorn and the fresh cotton candy

by momncity Written Dec 28, 2007 1 reviews

I visited Shoreline Village during the holidays. There is a new concession stand right next to the carousel and arcade. The concession stand is called Blue Carousel and its the cutest concession stand in Long Beach!!! I had some great popcorn and the cotton candy made fresh to order!!! The cotton candy was still warm and the popcorn was so fresh, hot and buttery. The service was friendly and excellent and the staff gave good directions to other Long Beach tourist sites. Be sure to visit the Blue Carousel the next time you are in Long Beach. Shoreline Village is across the street from convention center with a very nice view of the marina and the Queen Mary.

    Shoreline Village from Shoreline park.

Shoreline Village is a nice little place in Long Beach Marina. There are shops and great restaurants including Parkers Lighthouse and yard House Cafe. Its a great place to spend the day. It has a beautiful view of the pacific ocean including the Queen Mary. Its across the Aquarium of the Pacific, The Pike, The Shoreline Park and Lighthouse. So when you visit here you can check out all these other great places too..

Plenty to eat, plenty to drink

    Shoreline Village, in Long Beach

Shoreline Village is one of those places I'm always drawn to. It's right on Long Beach Harbor, and it's where the people, food and drink are. Enjoy a meal or a drink while looking out at the boats, then get an ice cream. It's also got some souvenir shops, including one with a maritime theme. And it's got a view of the Queen Mary.

    Shoreline Shops

    by Carmela71 Updated Apr 11, 2005 2995 reviews

The boats was not as exciting to me as the shops (maybe we have many marinas here in Marbella…. But as I said before the shops were its best, from the massive Teddy bear, ice cream shops, sweets shops, etc…..

    Shoreline Marina

    by Carmela71 Updated Apr 11, 2005 2995 reviews

It is so different to our marinas, with the wooden houses and pier, I loved it. I know it is for tourists, but I was a tourist! I know is all shops and restaurants, but hey, we bought some fun hats there too…
