Favorite thing: I absolutely love the Getty Museum. Incredible architecture, gorgeous landscaping, amazing views and of course an unbelievable art collection. I'm SO EXCITED about going there again! Check it out: http://www.getty.edu/visit/
Favorite thing: The Getty Museum - high in the hills over Westwood - offers some fantastic views of the ocean and much of the city as well. The dramatic architectural and landscape design (Richard Meier) is everything you could hope for. The collection is itself pretty spectacular, but what impressed me the most was the way that the building was so well suited to its site. I hope that it is really as earthquake-resistant as it was designed to be!
Favorite thing:
Go to the Getty Museum. The building's architecture and landscape, let alone the art it houses, is magnificent. I go every year, and I'm still not tired of it.
Fondest memory:
I used to spend summer weekends basking in the sun at the beach at Marina Del Rey. I would read a book, people watch, plane watch (taking off from Los Angeles International Airport), boat watch, jog to Venice Beach and back, and close my eyes to listen to the waves.
Fondest memory: One of the most beautiful places in L.A. has to be the J. Paul Getty Museum. Atop a hill in Getty Center, you can see the city below. You'll admire the gardens and artwork, which the museum is known for.
