Taking In Urban Light Art Display

by marinarena Written Apr 27, 2014

Favorite thing: At the L.A.. County Museum of Art (LACMA), it has become a prerequisite to take snapshots of or simply take in the permanent Urban Light art installation, done in 2008. Created by Chris Burden, Urban Light is comprised of real early 20th century street lamps. He collected the street lamps of a variety of sizes, from downtown L.A. to the Rose Bowl.

2014: The UL street lamps are featured in the background of an NBA playoff promotional commercial with popular music star, Pharrell

Eat and Drink Good Street Food, by LACMA

by marinarena Written Feb 2, 2013

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Expect a row of semi-gourmet food trucks with waiting street food lovers daily along Wilshire Blvd, between Curson and Fairfax Ave. A mix of LACMA and La Brea Tar Pits visitors and those of the corporate work force dominate the street food patron crowd. Common gastro street offerings include tacos, gourmet burgers and sandwiches, and various Asian inspired foodstuffs.

Fondest memory: I always go with fancy french fries!!
