Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles
On a nice night, which is almost every night, go for a ride around town with some good friends, good tunes, and cruize the whole city from Downtown to Santa Monica, to Sunset Blvd, to Hollywood, to Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, etc.
Stop at some to walk around and check out the cafes and sidewalk restaurants, then move on to the next place.
Fondest memory: What I miss most about LA is being in the center of a very creative and innovative city never content to stand still.
I read so many negative reviews about LA here that I thought a few words had to be said. in its defense.
LA has a lot of problems, like any city, and some that are unique to LA. But, It is still a place of possibilities where anybody's got a chance to make his dream come true.
You want to make the desert bloom.? No problem. You have no natural port. No problem we'll just build you the world's largest man-made port.
LA is a better place to live than it is to visit .
It is a land of surprises. It is a true international city with residents from every country in the world, large groups often comprising populations larger than the largest city in their country of origin.
As a result, it is a cultural and culinary center for traditional dishes and inventive LA cuisine of its own.
LA requires the patience of exploration though.
Because of the way it has developed, you never know what's around the next corner. In the oddest places you may find a fascinating small museum or the latest in new cuisine. Or, because it is LA, just finding one of the oddest place can be interesting too.
So, to those who pass through and whine that it's too big, it's too smoggy, and there's no culture, give it a break. LA has more bookstores and more theaters than any other US City. Surprised.? LA has got so much culture, it exports it to the rest of the world. What other city can you see on your television and in movie theaters every day of the week, in every country of the world? And we do it with beaches, mountains, deserts and sunshine.
So, While I'm not saying that LA is better than any other travel destination, it would be a loss, to pass it up because of some negative reviews.
If it' s happening in LA now, the chances are it will be coming to you soon.
Favorite thing: Sunset Boulevard is one of the world most famous streets. It stretches from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean, passing through Hollywood and Beverly Hills on its way.The street has inspired many productions: the 1950 movie Sunset Boulevard, the modern day Andrew Lloyd Weber musical, and the 60s television program, 77 Sunset Strip.Take an afternoon exploring this exciting Los Angeles street. Packed with history and ultra-cool shops and hang-outs, it shouldn't be missed.
Visit Sunset Boulevard at night!
Fondest memory: Having lunch on the Santa Monica Pier, watching whales come to the surface of the Pacific. The sun was glittering off the ocean, the view was beautiful, and the people watching was great...
Go to a bar on Sunset Blvd on the weekend. There is no place on Earth with as many beautiful people dressed so glamorously falling over themselves drunk.
Fondest memory: When I leave LA I miss 3 things:
1) In'n'Out Burger - great fastfood, theyre everywhere.
2)Mexican food here is awesome
3)SAKE BOMBING: pour your sake shot into a glass of beer - Get wasted in a hurry, puke up your sushi
