This is one of the many buildings among the Los Angeles Music Center. I have always wanted to see it in person and it was wonderful to see it. It opened in Sept of 1964, it seats 3,197 people and has been the site of the Academy Awards from 1969-87. It still serves many musical venues. Our next trip will hopefully be able to explore this center.

I have always wanted to see this and it is spectacular. Designed by architect Frank Gehry that seats 2,265 people. It just stands out among so many other historical buildings. We didn't get to go over and explore since we had so many other things to see. It is on our next agenda. Still it was wonderful to see it.

I was wandering around LA with a 2002 guide book so when I looked over and saw this building I thought it was kind of peculiar that it wasn't included since it looked an awful lot like Frank Gehry's structure in Millennium Park in Chicago. Well, it turns out that it is a Frank Gehry design, built in 2003 which is why you shouldn't walk around with a 3 year old guide book even if you did check it out of the library for free.
