Tacos Nazo...has a few locations around LA area, has best fish tacos, better than rubios. thai food- thai dishes, 239 e. colorado blvd in pasadena. nest thai food ive ever had, any ive heard other people rave about it. inexpensive, your pineapple rice comes in an actual pineapple! try eating in ethnic neighborhoods- little saigon in westminister (off the 22) little tokyo, alavera street (mexican), thai town, china town- all centered near downtown LA, little india- artesia, off 91 fwy on pioneer street. great places for shopping, too. i bought noodles in chinatown for 99 cents, which were 4$ at any grocery store. cute clothing and gifts. Rowland Heights, CA, sports miles of ethnic Korean and Oriental markets, stores and restaurants. In the table center a gas or charcoal BBQ space is uncovered if BBQ is ordered. Brought to the table the waitress starts the BBQ and meat. The customer takes over, cooks and eats the meat, as it is ready. Rice is a mainstay at all meals. Chopsticks are traditional but forks are provided when asked.
Korean BBQ is also known as Mongolian BBQ and appeals to most American tastes. Small side dishes of pickles, kim chee (hot spicy pickled cabbage), vegetables and tofu traditionally accompany meals. Other good choices are fish, soups and jop chae a rice noodle with vegetable/meats. I love all kinds of food (Japanese, Indian, American, Greek, Asian) and there is no shortage at all....you'll find your favorites in almost any place you visit. Check out the La Cienega Avenue (known as the restaurant row - - great restaurants and great food). A good Japanese restaurant up on a hill near Hollywood is called 'Yamashiro'. Great Persian restaurants are on Westwood Blvd. close to UCLA. We have a Chinatown, Korea Town, Japan Town (all in the downtown area). Oh and lots of great seafood restaurants along the coastline (Ocean view Blvd. in the Santa Monica area) or check out the Malibu area or Long Beach area. Enjoy!! Restaurants in L.A. are rated 'A' 'B' 'C' by the Health Department. A is the highest rating and this means that the Health Dept. considers them properly practicing clean and healthy way of preparing food, storing food and discarding of trash. So, you'll see signs posted on the front door or window of all restaurants. A rating of 'B' means it needs improvement in some areas and 'C' is 'at your own risk' I would say. Needs a lot of improvement but still not considered a threat to the public. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

There are plenty of places to eat in LA (and more if you venture out to the surrounding counties). Depending upon the neighborhood: WEST L.A. - Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade; Wilshire Blvd.; Montana Blvd.; Olympic Blvd.; Beverly Hills; Century City; Westwood Village; Restaurant Row (La Cienega... most of these restaurants are over-rated, but if you want a safe bet, they beat going to places like Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe -- I can't believe that people still frequent these 2 establishments! Might as well go to McDonald's!) If you like Spanish food - 'La Paella.' Downright yummy! It's on La Cienaga/San Vicente (near the Beverly Shopping Center), but not one of those gargantuan restaurants that stick out. It's a small cottage-style joint, great service and food! Koreatown: If you feel like eating, drinking, singing and clubbing--go here! Be forewarned, Korean nightclubs are quite costly compared to other nightclubs--there's usually a minimum charge for each individual (sometimes up to $50). Some restaurants are open 24-7. Major Streets: Wilshire, Western, Olympic. Dim Sum: Chinatown is a bust, there's not a whole lot going on since most of the Chinese-Americans moved to the outer suburbs. So if you want Chinese food, go out to Monterey Park. NBC Restaurant (yes 'NBC') has dim sum, but go early as the later you go the more you have to wait. Mexican: Alvaro St. and anywhere else you can get fish tacos... Japanese: Sawtelle/Sepulveda in West LA; Torrance/Gardena in the South Bay. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
