The Little Door: Perfect Date Spot

This place is an absolute must for all couples! The ambience and decor are perfect. The outdoor patio is covered with gorgeous little lights, trees, plants etc. You definately feel like you are somewhere other than Los Angeles. Tables are lit by candelight. The place is a bit loud because it is very full, but the atmosphere is very enjoyable. Don't be surprised if you run into a few celebs too. The service is outstanding (attentive) waiters and the food is delish! Can't go wrong with the filet mignon or any of the fish dishes. Beer and wine only. Bring your check books cause the food "aint" cheap nor the wine...however worth every penny!

Favorite Dish: For dinner I had the grilled Ahi Tuna (medium rare) comes with baby veggies and a delicious hummus. Washed down with some fancy bottle of wine a la J.R's good palate. And finished with the flourless chocolate cake...

    ummm, ummm, good

The Little Door: Romantic, ecclectic, cozy french restaurant

Plan to spend a lot, but get your moneys worth. Menu ranges from around $30- $50 per entree. There is an outdoor patio section with tiny tea lights hung from the trees. Probably one of the best bets for romantic spots in the city- and like it's name- is pretty hidden.... No attitude abounds there, a plus for dining in LA.

Book in advance, ask for Patio seating. Make sure you have directions because its hard to spot!

Favorite Dish: Bouillabaisse with Monk Fish, Salmon, Shrimp, Clams, Mussels and Tuna

    But their specials are lovely!

Apparently, this is considered a bakery that's an off-shoot of The Little Door. I'd say it's more of a cafe/deli, with major French influence. My ex-husband & I ate here & tasted a little of everything -- French herbed ham, roast beef, pain au chocolat, croissant, foie gras, quiche, various types of breads, wine & macaroons. Everything was excellent! They also have sandwiches, prepared salads, soups & such.

    The decor is tres Francaise!

Favorite Dish: The pain au chocolat was the most authentic one I've ever had outside of Paris.

The Little Door: Very Romantic Atmosphere

Hard to tell what's behind those doors!

This is a great restaurant choice for a romantic date, or when wanting to impress your companion. There are 3 outdoor/indoor patio areas, surrounded by lush greenery and a serene, cool, ambiance. Food is on the pricey end and is mainly French/ Mediteranean, with a variety of daily specials to choose from. There is an extensive wine list, including French, California, Spanish, Australian, and even South African wine options.

Favorite Dish: Every time I have ordered the Filet Mignon, it had been cooked to perfection. Fish dishes were also delicious (especially the Red Snapper). The desserts I have tried have been decent, but not as memorable as the entrees.
