Akin to canal st. in New York but, in a more condensed area and a much better variety of product! YESSI is my favorite

The Macys Shopping plaza is accessible in 2 minutes from the 7th Metro Station. It's a big department store and direct connected with the Hyatt hotel. In the lower level are restaurants, a fitness studio and telecommunication-stores. In the entrance level are jewellers, clothing dealers and the US Postal Service.
There are many special offers year round, especially at the end of the seasons. They offers clothing for men and women, cosmetics and various articels such as handbags, sunglasses, luggage...!
Excellent place to get high quality goods for less money than the average! Leave a Comment

Santee Alley is a low-budget paradise for goods of all kinds. Located in the Fashion district of LA, it offers a little bit of everything for all shoppers, men and women alike. The market specializes in bargains in a bazaar like open-air market place. Remember, you can haggle away when buying!!!
It's a great place for to go souvenir shopping rather than get suckered at the typical tourist traps. I like to go there for clothes and bags. You can get knockoffs and cheap clothes. I don't always buy but it's a good place to see alternative wares at discount prices.

Santee Alley is the home of the knock-off Prada bag, Gucci sunglasses, YSL wallet. I got 2 "Prada" bags for $20. It also has a cool selection of non-knockoff t-shirts and other clothes. Largely for more petite people. Note that the alley is NOT for the faint-of-heart or claustrophobic. Imagine a cross between Tijuana & Calcutta, but with designer labels. You will literally not be able to move sometimes for the crush of bodies.
Great selection of purses, sunglasses, shoes & watches. If you like a designer name on your stuff, you're all set.
$5-$40, depending. Most sunglasses $5. Most purses $10-30. Haggling is encouraged. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Santee AlleyDirections: Off Olympic between Santee & Maple. Parking is plentiful but costs money (but you save SO much on your purchases that you won't care).

The Denim Doctors is the BEST place to find used jeans or have custom jeans made. If your one of those girls like myself who had one great pair of jeans but now they are too worn and tattered then this is the place for you. Especially recommended if you are a Levi's lover...
DENIM....

If your looking for cute and trendy clothes at fantastic prices than "Yessi" in the downtown Fashion District is the place for you... Located at 1104 1/2 Santee right off of Maple & Santee Street in downtown Los Angeles, it is in the heart of the fashion district. The best time to go is during the late morning or early afternoon...it's gets way too crowded after 3:00pm especially if your going on a weekend (not recommended)
My favorite things there are the cute tops. They have everything from casual to dressy. They also have an wide array of hats and accessories too.
Pants/Jeans about 25-60 bucks. Tops from 9-25 bucks. Leave a Comment Theme: Women's ClothesAddress: 1104 1/2 Santee Los Angeles, CA 90015Phone: 213-742-0944

If you head south on Broadway Ave. off the US 101 freeway you will quickly find yourself in Los Angeles' jewelry District. Broadway and the sorrounding side streets are lined with jewelry stores selling gold and diamonds at discounted prices. To get the best deal make sure you know what you are shopping for and how much you would expect to pay elsewhere. This neighborhood is a great place to wander around in as you move outwards from this district you will find yourself in other districts selling discounted flowers, fabric, clothing and craft supplies.

Santee Alley, in Downtown LA's Fashion District, is a bazaar-like passageway that stretches several blocks through the neighborhood. Overflowing with designer knock-offs, toys, knick-knacks, bootleg dvds, and even live animals, Santee defies anyone who's described Los Angeles as "suburban". The Alley seems to have broken it's narrow line in the past few years, and the entire area is rife with discount clothiers. There are fast food chains, push carts, warm churros and even the wholesale fabric shops the area was bred on. Be prepared for a slow slug through the crowds. The area is PACKED with people and is not for the agoraphobic.
In addition to the designer knockoff shops, there are also a few legitimate outposts on the Western end of the Alley. Here, you'll pay $50 for a shirt, compared to $15 or $20 a skip away, but you're getting the real deal - and you're getting a steep discount over what you'd pay on Melrose or in Beverly Hills. I'm also a fan of a custom belt-buckle shop in the Alley. Here, you can have a belt buckle custom-designed for yourself or a friend: it might read "LOSER" or "HO-BAG" in fake diamonds. That's a true Los Angeles gift, don't you think?
Cheap, Cheap, Cheap. Expect to pay $5 or less for tee shirts, $2 for socks, and $10 for sunglasses. True designer clothing will run higher, say $30-$40 for a button-down shirt. I'm not sure how much they charge for live turtles or rabbits...you'll have to bargain with them, yourself. Luckily, I was visiting my brother and his girlfriend refused to let me shop in any of the trendy stores until she took me downtown. A lot of stores and vendors buy there items for very cheap downtown and then bring them back to their stores, etc and set the price much higher. It was definitely an interesting experience! The downtown shopping district is crazy!! Upon arriving you see signs pointing to the "Fashion District", "Toy District", "Jewelry District", etc. Not necessarily districts, but streets crammed with tiny shops selling whatever items described. Finding street parking is impossible so pick an inexpensive (that's a very relative term) and walk the crowded streets to your store of choice. It was insanley crowded with women dragging suitcases filled with purchases around with them and other ladies with strollers just running over people in their way. The "good" stores that my brothers girlfriend took me to were down a back alley and I can't even begin to tell you where they were as I was completely lost. As promised the stores she took me to had name brand designer clothing for less than the mall or other outlets. Keep in mind that it is perfectly acceptable to bargain with the store owners and if you pay cash sometimes the prices are even cheaper. All in all, it was a great deal, but you have to be willing to deal with the crazy crowds...
My interest was designer clothing, but honestly anything you could possibly want... downtown LA will not disappoint!
It all depends on how your haggling skills are... but expect to pay less than in a regular store. Keep in mind that most of the stores DO NOT allow returns... in store credit only (if they take it back at all) Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Downtown

Shopping in LA doesn't always involve expenisive clothing from Rodeo Drive. Just take a trip to Downtown LA and you will discover a great and cheap place to shop. The Garment district of LA sells tons of clothing for both men and women at cheap, cheap prices. Granted, it isn't the best quality but when you are paying $5 for a shirt to go out to the bar in, you really can't complain. They also sell cheap maternity clothing and mens wear. This area is a great area to wander around in. The further north you go the more "districts" you will discover. There is a lso an area for fabrics, jewelry, crafts (beads, wedding favors etc), and flowers. All are withing a 30 minute walk.
Cheap clothing for men and women. Also sell discounted maternity clothing. Leave a Comment Theme: Women's ClothesDirections: Downtown Los Angeles. Exit 101 at Broadway. Left at 9th st. The Fashion District is south of 9th all the way to about 13th Street.
