I dont know what it is about the Staples center but whatever sports it is, whether it be basketball, indoor football, hockey or a concert, its just fun to be there.
I am a Lakers season ticket holder so the Staples Center is almost second home. I was just noticing though that I have no pictures of all the games that I have gone to. The only pictures i have was when we took the kids to an Avengers game.
The way the Staples Center was made, every seat is a good seat, even up in the three hundred sections. Of course the lower you are the better.
There are also many places to eat inside the center but the food isnt that good in my opinion and its pricey.
We usually get something to eat before or after the games since there are so many great places to eat at in downtown. At the Staples Center we usually just get our drink on!
If you are lucky enough to be able to get into the luxury boxes, the food is very good.
Everytime i have gone the see a game i always see at least one celebrity, its kind of fun.
if you get a chance while in Los Angles get along to the Staples Centre and root for the Los Angles Kings. To see a game of Ice hockey live adds an extra dimension and better understanding to the sport.

Ok, so you want to see a fine basketball arena. Here is one, in fantastic downtown L.A.!! The Staples Center is in the heart of the city. Since its development, the surrounding area of the venue has been revitalizing. The once depressingly ugly streets of Pico and Figueroa are now nicer and promising. Of course, with this urban development comes higher rents for residents and store owners. It's a "catch 22" indeed, but in the end, the Staples Center is a positive thing for downtown.
Staples Center is home to the NBA Clippers and Lakers, the WNBA Sparks, NHL Kings plus several concerts by big name artists and other entertainment acts as well.
Here's a warning: Parking is terribly steep at Staples, about $20-$30 near the entrance doors, $ 10+ a block away! There are some lots nearby that are about $8-$10 but further away. A good suggestion is to come early to give time for finding a place to park. Don't be so fashionably late like the locals!
It's very convenient to leave the car at home or at a lot near a Metro Stop (i.e. at Union Station or Hollywood & Highland) and take the Metro Blue Line, stopping at the Pico/Chick Hearn Station. Staples is about 5 blocks away (about a steady 15 min walk) from the Red Line downtown stop at 7th and Metro/Julian Dixon. Several buses, such as the Dash buses C and F, stop close to the arena. Many Metro buses will run late, after the sports games usually commence.
We got very lucky this day. My friend gave us Suite tickets at the Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Clippers vs the Chicago Bulls. It was a good game. Very close but the Clippers lost by a few points.
Equipment:
The place was great! It was all you can eat and drink plus desserts. They had beer, soda, waters, juices, tequila, rum, vodka, red bull.....just to name a few. For food it was hot wings, hot dogs, chips, and other appetizers. For dessert i had the hugest caramel apple with nuts, they had other types of cakes and desserts but the caramel apple caught my eye.
Usually its all about the Lakers but lets give the Laker girls some credit too. They are hard working, always have a smile on their face and are constantly doing PR work. I have met them on a few different occassions and they are great.
At this particular game (Lakers vs Orlando....Lakers won!!!) we saw Kareem. He is at the Staples Center quite often but this time he past right by us and even said hello. Being big time Laker fans, this was a big deal!
He was walking slow, you could tell he was getting older but just seeing a legend like Kareem is awesome. I was standing next to a couple that were in such awe from seeing him that they were so nervous they forgot to take pictures. One of them said "now, he is the reason why I started even playing basketball!" I thought that was pretty cool.
Donavon calls me and says "I have a surprise for you. Do you want to upgrade your tickets?" (at no extra cost....Hell yea!)
So he did even better than that. He got us into the tunnel so that you can High five the players as they come out onto the court! Yes! i was right there! Then he took our original tickets and exchanged them for seats right in front, on the court, right behind the Laker bench! How cool was that! So of course, you know me, I have to call all my friends and tell them to turn on the TV and see if they can see me. A few of them did!
This was a good game and one that i will remember for a long time. Since it isnt often that I sit on the floor. I cant tell you how great it was...It was just so awesome! There was so much energy down on the floor it was unbelievable. The game was good, we won. except for a few mistakes...sasha.....but we'll forgive him. Kobe was unbelievable like always.
The Suites usually seat between 12 to 16 people amnd they are pretty expensive. Usually big companies buy the suites and give the tickets away as PR gifts. We got our tickets from a friend who is a general manager at a club. One of his vendors give them to him. THANKS!!!!
